The Role

To support our growth, we are seeking a Supply Chain Manager for a newly created role designed to act as the operational “glue” across the supply chain, with responsibility for overseeing the Divisional S&OP process.

You will have ownership of primary logistics, including service performance and reporting, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring products are brought into the business and shipped out to customers in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This role balances supply and demand while minimising excess inventory and unnecessary costs.

Sitting at the intersection of Customer Service, Procurement, Planning, and Transport, the Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in building structure, improving processes, and reducing reactive, high-cost decision-making across the business.

The role is also responsible for global logistics operations and vendor performance management across specialist couriers, integrators, and 3PLs. This position is critical to ensuring service excellence, cost efficiency, and strong cross-functional alignment across planning, procurement, and divisional support teams.

RequirementsS&OP – Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a key stakeholder in Divisional S&OP, continuously striving to develop a deep understanding of demand through close collaboration with the commercial function.
  • Link demand insights into support functions such as planning and procurement, ensuring supply and demand remain balanced.
  • Own primary logistics, including service performance and reporting.
  • Act as a key liaison between supply chain, planning, procurement, and divisional teams.
  • Support demand planning and inventory optimisation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with QA, Regulatory, and Finance teams to ensure end-to-end supply chain integrity.
Global Logistics & Service Level Management
  • Oversee the performance of specialist couriers, integrators, and 3PLs across global lanes.
  • Monitor and manage service levels, including on-time delivery, temperature compliance, and exception handling.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for service failures.
  • Support benchmarking activities and RFQs with logistics vendors.
  • Apply a strategic mindset to identify trends, ask probing questions, and focus on the most significant operational drivers.
Vendor Management & Performance Reviews
  • Own vendor relationships for logistics and supply chain services.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key vendors, assessing:
    • Lead-time adherence
    • Invoicing performance
    • Billing accuracy
    • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure contractual compliance.
Operational Excellence & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain KPIs covering courier performance, vendor compliance, and cost-to-serve.
  • Drive the use of digital tools and dashboards to enable real-time visibility and analytics.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections through robust documentation and well-controlled processes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, preferably within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
  • Proven experience managing global courier networks and vendor performance.
  • Strong understanding of GDP, cold chain logistics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • An open mindset with the ability to bring new ideas and approaches.

Benefits
  • 27 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • Pension contributions (4.5% matched)
  • Life assurance (4x annual salary)
  • Flexible benefits platform with £25/month company contribution
  • Annual salary review
  • Independent financial advice service
  • Enhanced Employee Assistance Programme
  • Retail shopping discounts
  • Long service awards
  • Recognition scheme and Employee of the Year awards
