We are looking for a confident individual with a positive outlook and a can do attitude who are aspiring to build their experience and progress at M&G.

A successful candidate is someone who is self motivated, capable of building and maintaining relationships, naturally curious and work effectively as part of a team. A powerful desire to learn and a genuine interest in Third Party Supplier Management. 

The applicant would ideally have an inquisitive nature and be curious. The successful applicant should feel confident to use their own initiative and work alone where required with an aspiration to want to learn and progress.

The Role

The Third party Supplier Management team within COO ensures that suppliers are providing the services they are contracted to correctly and in the most cost effective manner, to give our clients fair value for money. Whilst helping to demonstrate a robust supplier management approach, by ensuring our suppliers are adhering to the group risk policy, frameworks and standards. 

This role will help support the Third Party management team. This will involve supporting functions such as risk, commercial, product change and supplier management activities.

The successful applicant will be working with our key strategic suppliers that support our Asset Management business and other teams within the broader business, such as Investment Accounting, Risk management and finance. 

What will you be doing?

Within your apprenticeship, you’ll rotate through a few teams to give you insights into each of the areas of Supplier management, and across the different teams your daily activities will include assisting the Third party supplier management team to: 

  • Collate, review and understand contracts with suppliers, updating account plans and financials  
  • Undertake due diligence reviews on our suppliers , ensuring they are within the risk appetite of the company, including writing reports.  
  • Ensure supplier meetings are run correctly and accurately reflect the key activities taking place between M&G and the suppliers, and that issues are escalated to the correct forums 
  • Manage the change management activities between M&G and the suppliers, supporting fund launches or other project requirements. 
  • General administration tasks. 

What will I need to be successful in this role?

The Supplier management apprentice will:

  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal with the whole team and stakeholders both internal and external. 
  • Efficient and proactive. Ability to manage processes and coordinating with different people. 
  • High level of accuracy and good attention to detail. 
  • Structured approach to work and very well organised. Works well off of checklists & time blocking/time management. 
  • Can effectively manage day to day work, alongside apprenticeship qualification. 
  • Can keep calm under pressure.  
  • Moderate understanding of the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • A proactive team player who is confident about working with others but also independently and can promptly escalate any issue and work remotely where required. 
  • Logical and analytical approach coupled with intelligence, passion and a drive to learn. 
  • Ability to formulate own opinions by thinking analytically about problems, thinking “outside the box” to resolve issues where required. 
  • Empathy and good listening skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Available to start the apprenticeship programme in September 2025
  • You must not be enrolled into another further education programme at the beginning of the programme
  • Be a UK citizen or have proof of your right to work in the UK
  • Living in England
  • Minimum of Grade 4 in GCSE English and Mathematics
  • Minimum of Grade C in Three A Levels or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals (You must not have a Business A Level or equivalent)

Training Provided

As a Supplier Management Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses.

Future Prospects

This is a fixed term contract for 18 - 23 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.

Salary

£26,000 per annum plus benefits
