About the role
We’re looking for a Studio Project Manager to join our in house creative studio, The Humble Mavericks.
We’re not necessarily looking for someone with a Studio background, but what matters most to us is the kind of person you are. This is a role for someone resilient, highly adaptable and energised by working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You’ll thrive on juggling priorities, staying calm under pressure and keeping momentum across multiple moving parts.
This role sits at the heart of the studio and is responsible for ensuring the studio runs efficiently day to day. You will manage resource across a team of four integrated designers and the Head of Studio. You will oversee workflow, budgets and timelines so work is delivered on time, on budget and to an exceptional creative standard.
You will work closely with account teams across the agency as well as directly with clients to deliver a wide range of creative work from print through to video and pitch collateral.
A key objective of the role will also be supporting the studio’s ongoing exploration of AI enabled design tools and workflows. This includes identifying opportunities where new technologies could improve efficiency, creative capability and commercial performance, and helping test and introduce new approaches where appropriate.
The day to day
Studio operations and project delivery
- Act as the main point of contact for account teams and clients engaging with the studio.
- Manage projects from briefing through to final delivery.
- Review and shape briefs before assigning the appropriate resource and delivery approach.
- Estimate projects including external supplier costs.
- Manage studio traffic and resource planning so the right designers are working on the right projects at the right time.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high creative standard.
- Work with the Head of Studio to ensure monthly revenue targets are met or exceeded.
- Produce and manage external and internal shoots including video and stills when required.
- Maintain a strong network of freelance designers and specialist partners to support the studio when needed.
- Work with the UK Operations Director to improve processes that increase studio efficiency and capability.
Key objective: supporting innovation and AI adoption
- Support the evolution of the studio by exploring how AI can augment design and production workflows.
- Research emerging AI tools and AI enabled design platforms relevant to creative production.
- Run small scale experiments or pilots to test how these tools could improve speed, efficiency or output quality.
- Share learnings with the studio and support the adoption of new approaches where appropriate.
- Work with the Head of Studio and wider agency innovation teams to embed practical AI enabled workflows into the studio’s day to day operations.
What will give you the edge
This role is as much about how you work as what you’ve done. We’re looking for someone who thrives in the pace, pressure and unpredictability of a busy creative studio - and brings energy, clarity and control to it.
You’ll likely recognise yourself in the following:
- You are resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- You communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders — from clients and account teams to designers, printers and external partners.
- You have exceptional attention to detail and take pride in getting the fundamentals right every time.
- You build strong relationships and bring a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset that supports and motivates creative teams.
- You have experience managing creative production across print, digital, video, animation and events.
- You bring commercial awareness and are confident managing budgets, estimates and supplier negotiations.
- Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com is beneficial.
