Job summary

The Student and Academic Services Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative, academic, and pastoral support to students and academic staff. The role ensures the smooth coordination of academic programmes, enhances the overall student experience, and supports the delivery of high-quality educational services. This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient academic processes, ensuring compliance with institutional standards, and contributing to student satisfaction.

Key purpose of the role

Student Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for student inquiries, providing timely and accurate information on academic and administrative matters.
  • Offer pastoral support to students, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Manage student attendance records and follow up on absences when necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute student materials, including welcome packs, and certificates.
  • Organize and promote student social events, extracurricular activities, and engagement initiatives to foster a sense of community and wellbeing

Academic Programme Administration

  • Support tutors in the planning, coordination, and delivery of academic programmes.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of lesson timetables and course schedules.
  • Coordinate logistics for classes, assessments, and student events.
  • Maintain accurate records of student their enrolment, and any changes to their circumstances

Quality and Service Excellence

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative and academic processes.
  • Monitor and report on student satisfaction and provide feedback to improve services.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support student engagement and retention initiatives.

Education and skills

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Previous experience working in the academic sectors is highly desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service ethos and a high level of patience
  • Team-player and willing to collaborate and contribute to the work of the wider team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and co-ordinate tasks to meet deadlines
  • Familiar with local immigration requirements
  • Interest in and basic knowledge of Fashion & Design
