About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated strategy professional to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the growth strategy across our portfolio, with a particular focus on our Academic and Government segment. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your strategy consulting or in-house strategy experience to define market opportunities, influence product direction, and support investment and growth decisions. You will work closely with senior product, commercial, and strategy leaders to translate insight into action in a fast-evolving, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development & Execution: Lead the development of portfolio and product level strategies across our Academic and Government segment

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Input: Provide guidance and support to our Product Leadership Team as they shape product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with our Portfolio level strategy and market opportunity

  • Market and competitive Intelligence: Monitor and analyse market dynamics, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify threats, opportunities, and potential partnership or M&A targets

  • Growth opportunity assessment: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify, size, and evaluate new growth opportunities across existing and adjacent market

  • Strategic Initiatives & Projects: Lead and deliver multiple high-impact strategic initiatives, including growth opportunity assessments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) screening, and strategic partnership evaluations

  • Stakeholder engagement & communication: Build strong relationships across product, commercial, and strategy teams, and communicate clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience in strategy consulting (top-tier or equivalent) or a strong in-house strategy role

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to synthesise complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations

  • Experience in evaluating and developing strategies for software and/or data-driven products is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of driving execution across cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed environment

  • High levels of self-motivation and business acumen, with strong consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven credibility engaging C-level executives and senior leaders

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Engineering). An advanced degree in relevant business / scientific field (MBA, MSc, PhD) is desirable
