Purpose of the Role

As the Strategy Director, you will work closely with the Head of Strategy and the Planner to develop, refine, and drive the strategic plan for one of Carat’s most reputable supermarket clients. With a strong foundation in planning and extensive experience in analysing and interpreting measurement data, you will play a key role in delivering strategic objectives and driving success for the client.

In this role, you will become a vital strategic liaison with the account team, ensuring that the team's contributions are aligned with the client's needs, while helping to maintain and grow relationships. You'll also be a key player in new business pitches, leading strategic planning and contributing to creative ideation from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Client Leadership to understand the client challenge helping to define objectives and key performance indicators. 

  • Effectively use media data and research systems and work with specialist teams to pull together highly relevant data from which to draw consumer patterns and trends 

  • Critically assess and interpret consumer behaviour and its economic, technical and psychological context to derive insights 

  • Use insight to support the idea generation process and to inform the decision-making process 

  • Develop a clear campaign strategy and justify its expected delivery against client objectives and/ or key performance indicators 

  • Define highly effective Channel Planning briefs and work with Channel Planners to deliver a truly integrated and holistic media strategy 

  • Work with Channel Planners to review the opportunities and applications for channel developments and emerging channels 

Qualifications + Skills

  • Proven experience in a strategic position at a media agency.

  • Strong background in Media Planning.

  • Proficient in gathering, interpreting, and analysing large sets of measurement data.

  • Personable and confident in engaging key stakeholders, with strong communication skills across all levels of internal and external teams.

  • We have teams based in both the Manchester and London offices, and we’re open to considering applications from candidates within a commutable distance of these locations. The team operates under flexible working arrangements, with a minimum office attendance of two days a week.
