The role

We are looking for an experienced Strategic Planning Office Lead to help shape and drive the long-term direction of the organisation. 

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, delivery, operational effectiveness, and organisational change. You will partner closely with senior leadership to define strategic priorities, assess competitive positioning and ensure execution is aligned with measurable business outcomes. 

Applying strategic thinking and a strong understanding of technology, industry trends and organisational systems, you will enable data-driven decision making. Through business insight, thought leadership and industry best practice, you will help leaders operate with the clarity and effectiveness of high-performing organisations. 

You will bring a strong bias for action and the ability to tackle complex challenges with urgency and ownership. This is a highly collaborative role requiring excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation. 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading strategic planning, translating long-term strategy into clear, actionable priorities
  • Owning the three-year strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including development of high-quality, board-ready materials 
  • Supporting the definition and delivery of OKRs, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and tracking progress throughout the year
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, solving complex business challenges from initial scoping through to delivery
  • Partnering with the Head of Delivery to align strategic planning with quarterly execution cycles
  • Overseeing governance, planning rhythms and business performance across the AOP and OKRs
  • Developing and evolving operating models, planning frameworks and governance processes
  • Leading and coordinate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to drive alignment, focus and accountability
  • Building and leading a high-performing Strategic Planning function, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and delivery 
Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in strategic planning, transformation, strategy consulting, operational excellence or business management
  • Experience assessing market landscapes, competitor positioning and technology trends
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to solve ambiguous problems and translate complex information 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders 
  • Strong understanding of organisational systems, delivery and outcome-based planning
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with pragmatic execution 
  • Experience using data and emerging technologies, including AI, to improve strategic planning and organisational effectiveness
