What you’ll be doing

Thredd is seeking a Strategic Partnerships Manager to join our London team and and drive our international partnership initiatives

In this key role, you'll develop and execute commercial partnership strategies across domestic and international markets, leveraging your exceptional account management skills and strategic thinking.

Your responsibilities will include driving revenue growth, influencing product launches, and facilitating market expansion through effective partner engagement. Operating in a fast-paced, global environment, you'll need resilience and the ability to navigate diverse business landscapes as you serve as a key ambassador for Thredd. Your capacity to foster sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships will be crucial as you cultivate relationships with key intermediaries and Thredd’s success.


Responsibilities 

  • Develop and expand the partner network through strategic recruitment and targeted outreach across various partnership types (payment networks, card management bureaux, consulting partners, etc.).
  • Create and execute regional business strategies for the partnership portfolio, aligning with market trends and partner evolution.
  • Manage and strengthen existing partner relationships, including contract negotiations, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Promote our partners internally, facilitating dialogue and collaboration at a senior level
  • Liaise with partners to solve issues, communicate needs and create business opportunity
  • Identify and develop opportunities for joint commercial initiatives, extending partnerships to new regions or industry sectors where relevant.
  • Build and manage new business opportunities with partners, maintaining accurate records in Salesforce and supporting the partner pipeline and lead generation. 
  • Work with the New Business Sales team to manage any referral opportunities provided by the partner network are followed up and secured
  • Identify and champion process improvements and initiatives to maximise revenue generated through partners
  • Analyse partner initiatives, forecast strategic changes, and report on key metrics, ensuring regular budget updates and adherence to business planning processes.
  • Coordinate C-level engagement both internally and externally, facilitating high-level dialogue and collaboration.
  • Develop and provide partner education programmes to ensure partners are informed about new developments and propositions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to maximise partnership value and ensure effective execution of opportunities.
  • Represent Thredd at industry events, webinars, and workshops, promoting partners internally and externally to create business opportunities.

What you bring

  • You will have interacted with and have strong cross scheme knowledge (Visa, Mastercard, Discover)
  • Deep technical and commercial understanding of card payment processes and stakeholder roles
  • Proven ability to engage and present credibly at C-level with partners
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both new and existing contacts
  • Excellent task management and prioritisation abilities, especially under pressure
  • Strategic planning experience in account management for complex partner organisations
  • Proven track record in new business opportunity management and closing complex deals
  • Exceptional communication skills across written, verbal, and digital channels
  • Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously towards clear goals
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a focus on identifying core issues for resolution
  • Experience in change delivery within the payments industry
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role
