Our Strategic Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, leading and managing key client relationships with our customers based in Derby/Birmingham. This role will work to cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with our strategic clients to drive long term business success.

What You Will Be Doing 

  • Develop Strategic Sales Plans: Formulates and implements comprehensive sales strategies to achieve growth objectives within key accounts. 

  • Manage Key Client Relationships: Cultivates and maintains strong partnerships with strategic client to drive long term business success. 

  • Analyse Market Trends: Evaluates industry developments and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision making and identify opportunities. 

  • Lead Complex Sales Initiatives: Directs high-impact sales projects involving multiple stakeholders and significant resources to meet organisational goals. 

  • Optimise Resource Allocation: Advises on the strategic distribution of resources to maximise sales performance and project outcomes within key accounts.

  • Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement strategies that align with organisational goals and drive account growth. 

  • Client Relationship Management: Expertise in building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key clients to enhance customer loyalty and retention. 

  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business operations and market dynamics to anticipate and respond to industry trends and regulatory changes. 

  • Project Leadership: Skilled in leading complex, high-risk projects from conception through execution, ensuring successful outcomes. 

  • Problem Solving: Proficient in identifying and resolving unique, high-impact business challenges using conceptual and analytical approaches. 

  • Resource Allocation: Expertise in directing and optimising resource distribution to maximise efficiency and support strategic initiatives. 

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders and diverse audiences. 

  • Strategic Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating high-stakes deals and agreements that align with company objectives and client needs. 

  • Data Driven Decision Making: Proficient in analysing sales data and metrics to inform strategic decisions and drive business performance. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across various departments and disciplines to achieve strategic account goals.

Experience:   

  • Previous experience at a large Engine commercial OEM customer, ideally with knowledge of engineering, product development, strategy and procurement functions  

  • Deep understanding of large Engine commercial OEM processes and decision influencers  

The successful candidate will need to travel regularly to customer locations in Derby and Birmingham; therefore, they will need to be based within this area.
