Job Summary
The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane, and butane.The terminal’s success is built on its high performing workforce and can provide opportunities throughout your career to progress and continually develop. With ongoing production from Ekofisk and Eldfisk, other redeveloped fields and new exploration projects in the works, the future looks bright as we prepare for a lifetime to 2050.
Reporting to the Finance, Procurement & Commercial Manager and working with a small team of financial professionals, the role will manage the day to day accounting operations of the business ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, including month and year-end processes, full UK tax compliance, preparation of annual accounts and management of the statutory audit programme.
The ideal candidate will be a Chartered member of a UK professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) with strong technical knowledge of UK Tax, VAT, accounting standards, financial reporting, and managing statutory audit programmes.

Skills, Experience & Competencies
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and legislative requirements and that the appropriate levels of financial control are in place
- Manage all finance and accounting activities including month-end and year-end close
- Coordinate the preparation of the Teesside companies’ annual financial statements
- Support the preparation of quarterly JV budget reports
- Ensure full direct and indirect tax compliance and manage quarterly tax payments
- Audit coordinator for owner and statutory audits
- Support the preparation and co-ordination of annual budgets
- Support monthly cost reporting to the Teesside Leadership Team and other budget holders
- Prepare monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and shipper tariffs
- Promote financial understanding in the organisation
- Support function of the Finance team as required
Basic Requirements
- Chartered membership of a UK professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax and VAT
- Proven knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial reporting
- Working experience in the oil and gas industry or similar industry preferable
- Advanced user of Microsoft packages and SAP
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build internal and external relationships
