JOB DESCRIPTION:

Statistician, Technical Services Department

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Statistician to join our Technical Operations Statistics team, an ideal role for a recent graduate or an early career Statistician. The role comprises of providing statistical support for the operations/manufacturing departments across the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) product range as well as collaborating with Technical, Manufacturing, Research & Development, Engineering, Quality and Regulatory colleagues.

The Opportunity

In this role, you would be joining a large vibrant, friendly and diverse group of Statisticians and SAS programmers, where you can expect to work across a diverse range of projects and utilise various statistical techniques. Our statistical teams collaborate to form a network of Statistics professionals, and offer members the opportunity to share best practices, leverage insights and skill-sharing, and build personal career expertise and professional development.

Key activities as a Statistician include:

  • Investigation and monitoring of manufacturing and product performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Transfer of products and processes from Research & Development into Manufacturing to support our exciting new product launches.
  • To be a key individual supporting development trials utilising your statistical background to drive quality and business decisions.

Essential Skills and Experience

You will have a BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics. Previous experience working in a regulated or manufacturing environment, and SAS/R programming skills are advantageous but not required.

We will expect you to be able to successfully contribute to a small number of projects, and work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds to explain statistical concepts to them. Additionally, you’ll need to be adaptable, have a keen eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong collaboration and team-working skills.
