The Role
The Capital Operations domain covers the critical movement of money between Dojo and our customers' accounts, encompassing daily settlements, monthly billing, and operational treasury views. Our vision is to transform Capital Operations into a world-class engine for Dojo, an optimised platform that delivers financial certainty, eliminates capital exposure, and scales profitably into new markets without linear cost growth.
As a Staff Engineer for Capital Operations, you will lead the technical strategy to address our core challenges: managing capital movements and driving operational scalability. You will be instrumental in enabling both Dojo and our merchants to seamlessly manage and optimise their cash flows.

What you will do
Domain technical ownership: Lead the engineering architecture and technical strategy, ensuring systems are designed to be modular, configurable, and scalable across markets.
Drive scalable architecture: Strategically remove technical debt and leverage operational economies of scale by designing intelligent services to automate operations.
Engineer critical systems: Take technical responsibility for systems that move large sums of capital internally and to customers, and engineer the appropriate risk and safety mechanism to enable the system to operate autonomously at scale.
Mentorship and culture: Empower and mentor engineers, fostering a culture where complex operational problems are solved with empathy and skill.
Cross domain collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads and Staff Engineers from adjacent teams to align on strategy and deliver a cohesive product experience.
What you will bring
Leadership experience: A proven track record as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Senior Technical Lead, in a high impact area.
Backend systems expertise: A hands-on background with modern event driven architectures such as Golang and/or C#.
Technical sophistication: A strong background in scaling high-volume internal ecosystems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
Pragmatic mindset: The ability to balance high-quality engineering with practical delivery.
Stakeholder mastery: Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical teams and non-technical partners, ensuring prioritisation decisions are grounded in commercial evidence.
Product-centric thinking: A genuine passion for creating elegant, reliable software that solves real-world customer problems.
