Why us?
Bitmovin is looking for a Staff Software Engineer Engineer to join our dynamic Analytics team. In this role, you will contribute to delivering innovative features across the Analytics product, leveraging a diverse mix of technologies to meet the demands of a fast-paced and evolving environment. Bitmovin Analytics collects metrics from various web video players, as well as Android and iOS Native SDKs. This data is processed and stored in a high-performance distributed storage engine, enabling instant querying through APIs or pre-built dashboards and visualization tools. These insights empower our customers to monitor the health of their video delivery pipelines, understand their users, and identify trends in their video products.
This is an opportunity that offers:
- Opportunity to develop high-quality, high-performance, fault-tolerant, reusable, and scalable software used by millions of users worldwide.
- Work with a modern and diverse tech stack, primarily focused on building large scale backend microservices (Java, Kotlin, Go), with opportunities to work across the full stack (TypeScript, iOS, Android).
- Solve challenging, large-scale problems in real-time data processing, reporting, and anomaly detection.
- Collaborate on impactful projects like server side ad insertion metrics or live event monitoring for the biggest sports events on the planet (e.g., Super Bowl, Soccer World Cup etc..).
You will make an impact that matters by:
- Development of high-quality, high-performance, fault-tolerant, well-tested, reusable, and scalable software that will be used by Bitmovin customers like ORF, VNPT, Thrive 360, Multichoice, RTL, and millions of users worldwide.
- Work with us on the design and implementation of new features of the analytics product
- Drive quality by writing unit, functional and performance tests
- Take ownership of features from design to implementation and testing to deployment
- Continually evaluate emerging technologies to stay ahead of the curve
- Drive your own ideas for code and process improvements
- Flexibility and openness to learning new technologies.
- Deep backend knowledge, including distributed systems and software architecture.
- Expertise in at least one of the following languages: Java, C#, Go.
- Passion for clean, pragmatic code and an eye for simplicity.
- Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra), queue systems (e.g., Kafka), or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and familiarity with Go and real-time data processing system are a plus
