How you'll be contributing to Accurx as a Staff Product Engineer...

At Accurx, we’re on a mission to transform how healthcare teams and patients communicate, and we’re well on our way—98% of NHS GP practices in England already rely on our software. As we continue to expand across the entire care continuum, our goal is to connect every single patient and clinician in the UK.

We’re looking for a Staff Product Engineer to help shape the future of our product and platform across a broader scope than ever before. At the Staff level, you’ll operate across an entire product group of 15-20 engineers, defining and driving architectural vision, technical strategy, and engineering standards. You’ll be trusted to influence and align multiple teams, ensuring our platform remains scalable, reliable, and innovative as we continue to grow.

Today, we primarily work with C# (.NET Core), Kubernetes, SQL, React, ES6, TypeScript, and Redux, but we’re always evolving. You’ll bring the expertise to help us navigate the next generation of tools, frameworks, and architectures that keep us at the forefront of healthcare tech. As we scale, you’ll be a key engineering leader, guiding our product group toward the best solutions—both today and for the future.

Your day to day tasks, should you choose to accept this mission 🤝...

  • Drive Architectural Excellence: You’ll set the technical direction for an entire product group, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to define our long-term architectural vision. Your deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data modelling, and cloud services will shape how we build, integrate, and evolve our platform.
  • Champion the “Product Engineer” Mindset at Scale: You’ll ensure that product thinking is embedded throughout the engineering process—making sure we build the right features for our users, and that we build them in a way that’s maintainable, robust, and aligned with our strategic objectives. You’ll inspire teams to stay close to our users, whether that’s joining user research sessions or partnering with clinicians and patients to understand their needs.
  • Influence Multiple Teams: Operating at a group level means you’ll work across numerous squads, identifying systemic technical challenges and opportunities. You’ll design initiatives that improve engineering practices, reduce friction, and accelerate our delivery of value. By seeing the bigger picture, you’ll ensure that investments in tooling, infrastructure, and architecture pay dividends across the entire product area.
  • Be a Force Multiplier for Engineering Quality: You’ll raise the bar for engineering excellence. Through code reviews, architecture discussions, and the introduction of best practices, you’ll help teams ship high-quality code at pace. You’ll identify gaps in our engineering capabilities—whether that’s performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, or testing strategies—and work with stakeholders to address them systematically.
  • Mentor and Grow Our Talent: You’ll model exceptional technical leadership and mentor senior and junior engineers alike. By coaching others on system design, debugging complex issues, and navigating trade-offs, you’ll elevate the skill and confidence of those around you. You’ll also partner with engineering managers and product leaders to cultivate a healthy, high-performing engineering culture within the group.
  • Build for Continuous Improvement: You’ll encourage teams to stay curious, experiment, and iterate. Whether it’s introducing new tooling to boost productivity, refining our CI/CD pipelines, or guiding a team through a tricky production incident, you’ll help shape a culture where learning and improvement never stop.

What the team say ...

Developers are encouraged to work closely with user researchers and product managers to understand what our users want, which helps shape the products we build. We receive regular feedback on code changes and how they’ve impacted our users, which is hugely motivating. Outside of writing code, my time is spent monitoring our product and working on any related bugs or incidents. As well as, focusing on supporting and mentoring other engineers, being involved in hiring processes and planning upcoming work with the rest of the product team."
