About the Design TeamWe’ve just wrapped up a stellar first year of Design at hyperexponential.
We have built a lean team of six, spanning Product Design, Brand Design, and Design Engineering, with experience from organisations like Miro, InVision, V7, Lakera, and QuantumBlack. Over the past year, we’ve reimagined both the platform and the hx brand through our new design language, Xpression, giving hx a distinct edge in an increasingly competitive market.

This Staff Designer role is a critical hire for the team. You will help us think holistically about how intelligence is woven into the entire AI platform, working across teams to shape new paradigms, capabilities, and patterns that elevate the overall platform experience. Your work will expand the team’s ability to deliver AI-native design at scale while strengthening our shared frameworks, collaboration models, and long-term direction.
What you’ll be doingLeading the design of AI-native experiences across the hx platform and shaping agentic workflows that take our intelligence offering from 0 to 1
Partnering with product, engineering, and the AI team to shape the vision and plan for an AI-native platform where agentic capabilities meaningfully improve efficiency, clarity, and decision quality.
Developing scalable patterns through our design language, Xpression, to support cross-functional partners to ship familiar and connected intelligence capabilities to our platform
Supporting the team in scaling craft excellence to meet the pace and breadth of our product development ambitions.
Driving AI-adoption within the Design team’s own workflows. Experimenting with and leveraging advanced AI tooling in your own workflow, from synthesising research insights with Claude Code to creating functional prototypes using tools like FigmaMake, Lovable, and React-based prototypes.
Working closely with the Head of Design to uplift the design team through coaching, codifying best practices, and helping shape a design organisation capable of operating at the frontier of AI-native product development.
A history designing AI-native product experiences where intelligence is foundational, not additive, and delivered material impact to users or the business. In particular, experience establishing patterns or frameworks that support product teams in creating cohesive and connected intelligence platforms.
A strong perspective and opinion on the future of AI
Significant experience leading design for complex initiatives, end-to-end. Typically where design is a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, operating in in ambiguous environments with high visibility and direct engagement with senior leadership.
Technical fluency, understanding the opportunities and limitations of AI and automation alike
Demonstrable use of AI tooling within your own workflow, such as for synthesis, prototyping, or engineering enablement

CompensationAt hx, we’re committed to salary transparency. You’ll always have clarity on pay early in the process - our Talent Partner will share details with you during initial conversations - and we’re working towards publishing salary information for all roles globally.
Because we’re building at the intersection of technology/SaaS and insurance, our roles don’t always map neatly onto traditional benchmarks. Our approach is to design compensation that’s competitive in the market, fair across teams, and aligned with the impact our people make.
