As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer within our Platform Domain, you will play a pivotal role in setting and executing on the technical strategy that ensures our platform's scalability, resilience, and security. You will collaborate closely with the Developer Experience (DevEx) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to integrate best practices and deliver high-quality features that provide unique business value. Your work will directly impact multiple Teams and Domains, shaping both immediate and long-term product decisions.

YOUR CHALLENGE:
  • Technical Leadership: Develop and implement the technical strategy for the Platform Domain together with the engineering leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. Act as a thought leader in the areas of DevEx, SRE, and Security.
  • Collaboration: Influence and guide the roadmaps of Teams within the Domain, collaborating with engineering managers, other Staff Engineers and Teams to achieve business-impacting goals while balancing local and broader organizational priorities.
  • Impact and Vision: Define and communicate the tech vision for the Domain to both the team and the wider organisation. Lead delivery of large-scale, complex projects that span multiple Teams or Domains, with a focus on reliability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle open-ended,  and ambiguous problems by determining priorities and defining both the approach and implementation plan in collaboration with the team. Ensure that technical trade-offs are meticulously evaluated to optimize customer value.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a role model, mentoring and inspiring other engineers. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the engineering organization.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Proven expertise in Site Reliability Engineering and a strong understanding of Developer Experience and Security best practices.
  • Experience in influencing technical and product direction within a large engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead delivery of complex, high-impact projects through technical leadership or direct implementation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize complex, competing requirements.
  • Good communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration across teams and organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and legal compliance in security and reliability (e.g., GDPR, SOC2) is a plus.
