As a Staff Backend Engineer at Fleek, you will lead the technical architecture for the Growth squad, overseeing critical ecommerce systems including payments, checkout, and complex order management. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll build high-traffic product systems that scale from 500K to millions of unique, AI-graded inventory items across three continents.

What you will do:
Design and architect robust backend systems for payments, credit, and seller tools to support rapid consumer growth.
Partner with the Growth squad to connect deep engineering decisions directly to buyer and seller business outcomes.
Mentor senior engineers while serving as a force multiplier by integrating AI tools into the development workflow.
The ideal candidate:
Proven track record at tier-1 consumer engineering cultures such as Monzo, Deliveroo, Skyscanner, or Wise.
Extensive experience building and scaling deep backend systems like checkout, data pipelines, or order management at high traffic.
Product-obsessed mindset with the ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to both engineering and business stakeholders.
