Staff Accountant - EMEA
Location: Remote in the UK (Ability to travel to London or Leeds office as needed)

BlueVoyant, a well-respected international cyber defense corporation, is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant to help scale the accounting and finance function in the EMEA region. The Staff Accountant will play an important role in the finance organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations in our European entities.
This is an ideal position for an individual who has previously worked at a startup or technology/software environment. The Company has been growing quickly, and the Staff Accountant will play a dynamic and fluid role as we continue to expand our growth. 
Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager in period closing process, including reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L 
  • Support financial reporting in line with local GAAP or IFRS and US GAAP
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries for multiple entities within Europe
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Post and reconcile banking transactions
  • Performing AR/AP related transactions, including invoicing
  • Assist in tax return preparation, VAT and other regulatory filings
  • Assist in system implementation efforts impacting financial reporting systems

Preferred Competencies:

  • Designing and maintaining appropriate internal controls, systems, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and enhancing the Company’s internal control environment
  • Assisting with the preparation of supporting documentation in connection with the Company’s annual financial statement audits
  • Qualifications
  • Educational background in finance, accounting or similar discipline
  • European accounting certification or equivalent achieved, or in process
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong practical knowledge of accounting standards and practices relevant to multi-national corporations, ‘Big 4’ or other public accounting experience a plus
  • High work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills and sense of responsibility
