Why we're hiring: 

At WPP we are undergoing a global company wide transformation programme that will enable us to work together in a more coordinated, connected and efficient way across the group. We are three years into building the global procurement function to support and assist WPP in meeting those goals. Over the past three years we have made positive progress but there is still a significant amount to achieve. We have spent considerable amount of time focused on our next 3-year strategy and are taking the opportunity to build a dedicated supplier relationship management capability within the Procurement area, to drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) best practice into both the wider procurement team and the WPP business. The purpose of the role is to execute effective supplier relationship management to maximise value and outcomes for WPP, balancing commercial risk and opportunities across in-scope supplier relationships.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, establish and maintain strong relationships with enterprise strategic and business critical suppliers, driving collaboration, innovation, and value creation 
  • Lead the relationship management of WPP’s enterprise strategic or business critical suppliers
  • Develop and implement supplier management strategies aligned with business goals
  • Provide credible challenge to business stakeholders on commercial & relationship management of enterprise strategic & business critical suppliers
  • Deliver supplier relationship planning, performance management, commercial management and risk management for enterprise strategic and business critical suppliers
  • Ensure utilisation of supplier management best practices, policies, and processes for owned suppliers
  • Work with our client & partnership teams to create 360’ views of suppliers who are also significant clients
  • You will report to the Director of SRM within the Procurement team

What you'll need:

  • Global Supplier Relationship Management experience
  • Experience of senior stakeholder influencing in a complex, matrix global environment
  • Experience of managing significant (>$5m p.a.) supplier contracts & relationships
  • Change management skills & ability to deal with ambiguity, adept at managing through significant change
  • Commercial risk management experience across Tier 1 global suppliers
