Job Description

Motorola Solutions’ innovation in public safety began nearly a century ago with the advent of mission-critical communications radios and networks. In the many decades since, we have purposefully transformed our business to include video security, access control and command center solutions powered by artificial intelligence. 

This position is an opportunity for a seasoned, strategic communications leader with expertise in public relations, issues management and creative storytelling to develop and drive external communications plans and programs across public safety and enterprise verticals. The role will advance our Solving for safer narrative, emphasizing how we innovate, build and connect technologies to help keep people safe and secure everywhere. 

This position reports to the head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Communications.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic business partner and communications counselor to sales, product and marketing leaders and teams, as well as government affairs, legal and others responsible for safeguarding corporate reputation

  • Drive the Motorola Solutions’ Solving for safer narrative through thought leadership initiatives that build brand and leadership credibility

  • Generate national, top-tier, local and trade media coverage of technology innovations that help to create safer communities and businesses across the region

  • Partner with sales team to unlock customer stories and testimonials

  • Create well-crafted, concise and highly engaging pitches, press releases, blog posts, and other internal and external materials

  • Manage communications activities at and around priority tradeshows in Europe and U.K. 


Basic Requirements

Please be aware this role is flexible, but will require regular office presence at our London offices and other associated offices as per business needs.

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strategic thinker who can build a network, gather information and translate it into communications content and plans that drive awareness and action

  • Outstanding storyteller with strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Savvy media strategist who knows how to leverage top-tier, trade and local outlets for earned coverage, as well as paid, shared and owned channels

  • Seasoned professional who exerts influence in navigating all levels of the organization and consistently exhibits strong judgment and commitment to excellence

  • Detailed project manager who leads complex workstreams with cross-functional contributors, meets tight deadlines and easily adjusts as circumstances change

  • Highly self-motivated and results driven 

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines 

  • Experience in international media relations preferred

  • 10+ years of experience and track record in running successful media activities
