Sr. Director, Client Partner (London)
This is a hybrid position based out of our Material London office.
About Us
We drive intelligent growth for ambitious businesses and leading brands.
Customer understanding is more potent and drives greater value when insights go to work directly within marketing and experience priorities. To give our clients that advantage, we put an insights-driven operating system at the core of our design, go-to-market, and digital experience solutions.
Material clients make smarter growth choices because they can see clearly how and when to take the shots that count. Together, we connect consumer intelligence with customer demand generation to build lasting, profitable relationships.
About the Role
Material+ is building its UK and European consulting practice, with London as the strategic hub. This role is the commercial engine for that growth — responsible for winning new clients and deepening existing relationships across the digital, AI, and Martech consulting landscape.
You will engage senior client stakeholders — CMOs, CDOs, heads of digital transformation — as a credible peer and trusted advisor. You understand not just Martech, but the full digital stack: AI and agentic systems, cloud architecture, data infrastructure, digital experience platforms, and how these converge to transform how modern enterprises compete. You bring a consulting mindset: you diagnose before you prescribe, and you shape engagements that deliver measurable outcomes.
This is a hunter-farmer hybrid role for someone who thrives at the intersection of commercial ambition and intellectual credibility.
What You'll Do
- Drive new business across the UK and Europe, independently and alongside practice leads and global business development colleagues, targeting marketing-led and digitally-transforming enterprises
- Own a client portfolio as the primary relationship lead and commercial owner — accountable for retention, growth, satisfaction, and P&L
- Build deep senior relationships with CMOs, CDOs, VP Marketing, and digital transformation leaders — operating as a strategic advisor, not just a sales contact
- Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within accounts, spanning AI strategy, martech transformation, agentic solutions, cloud-enabled marketing, digital experience, loyalty, and data-driven marketing
- Shape and lead pursuits — from opportunity identification and scoping through proposal development and close
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across delivery, practice, and engineering to build commercially sound, differentiated proposals
- Maintain pipeline discipline — accurate forecasting, billing oversight, and revenue accountability
- Develop fluency across Material's full portfolio — connecting client needs to the right blend of consulting, technology, and data capabilities
About You
- 12+ years of client-facing experience in digital consulting, martech, technology services, or a related advisory environment — with a demonstrated track record of growing accounts and closing complex new business
- Full-stack digital fluency — you understand the modern digital stack beyond martech: AI/ML, agentic systems, cloud platforms, data infrastructure, digital experience, and how these connect to marketing and customer engagement
- AI-forward mindset — you can speak credibly to how AI is disrupting marketing, customer engagement, and enterprise operations, and you help clients navigate that disruption strategically
- Consulting experience preferred — you approach client problems with structured thinking, and you know how to shape and sell an engagement, not just respond to briefs
- Credible with C-suite — you engage CMOs, CDOs, and digital transformation leaders as a peer; you challenge constructively and earn trust quickly
- Commercial sharpness — strong instincts for identifying, scoping, and closing growth opportunities across a complex, matrixed service portfolio
- Strong communicator — compelling in presentations, proposals, and executive conversations
- Based in London, with willingness to travel across Europe as required
- Financial acumen — experienced in account forecasting and P&L management
