Leads technical business analysis for a customer experience platform replacing an existing doctor portal. Translates requirements into detailed features, user stories, business rules, system requirements, diagrams, and technical solutions. Supports Agile ceremonies, development clarification, SQA test coverage, external demonstrations, documentation, and process improvement. Collaborates with stakeholders and distributed development teams while maintaining project and system specifications.
Customer and Consumer Engineering department is responsible for set of applications and products which cover the end-user experience for Align customers. This includes doctor portal, practice and patient mobile apps, remote monitoring solution and many more. Each team is agile and self-sufficient, covering the full stack: backend services (Java, Typescript, Ruby) and frontend (React). The department is distributed across the globe, yet we're aiming for collocation within each team.
The team we're hiring for is working on a new customer experience, that runs on the new set of core services and aims to replace an existing doctor portal. The project is large and has lots of moving parts and substreams to navigate through. And that's why we need your help!
We are looking for a business analyst, who will lead the business projects from requirements and solution side, working with the stakeholders and maintaining the development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing incoming requirements and converting them into features or stories, that should include details about system expected behavior, business rules, design constarints, etc. Therefore technical expertise is strongly required.
- Technical solution development and documentation with diagrams, system requirements and contracts.
- Dividing larger features into the system-level user stories for development team.
- Participation in teams scrum rituals (stand ups, plannings, demos, etc)
- Supporting teams during the development: clarifying requirements, helping SQA with test scenarios coverage, organizing external demo sessions, etc.
- Maintaining teams project and system documentation - specs, contracts, SRSes
- Planning, performing and implementing process improvement initiatives to make sure that the team stays on top of things.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analysis, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in IT industry.
- Understanding of REST/Hypermedia API. Basic concepts and general fluency on terminology and key aspects are required.
- Common understanding of HTTP protocol: requests, responses, headers, error codes.
- Ability to write full and clear user stories, functional and non-functional requirements
- Clear understanding of SCRUM methodology and rituals.
- Knowledge of UML and ability to build different kinds of solution and process diagrams
- Good soft skills, ability to initiate and maintain communication between people, initiative, proactiveness.
- Analytical and solution-oriented mind, critical and logical thinking, ability to reach the correct conclusion based on the available facts and arguments
- Being able to be autonomous and responsible for your part of work in terms of quality and matching the deadlines.
Complementary skills
- Experience as software developer (ideally web services)
- Experience with Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence)
- Being able to browse through and understand operational logs
- Basic SQL knowledge. Ability to write queries and build simple dashboards
- Ability to read code and get needed information on system behavior from it.
- Ability to decompose requirements and build technical solutions based on them
- Agentic AI experience
