Sporty are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sports Media Product Manager to lead the further development of Sporty.com and of SportyTV’s OTT platform as well as other strategic media and broadcasting projects within our organisation. 


This role is pivotal to driving the success of our sports media initiatives, with a particular focus on football, sports news, live scores, and sports broadcasting via OTT platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in product management within the sports technology industry, with a deep understanding of the sports media landscape.


Key Responsibilities:


Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and execute a clear product vision and strategy for Sporty.com, SportyTV’s OTT platform (including SmartTV) and related media projects, aligning with the company’s overall business goals.


Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, technology, and business development, to ensure product alignment with market demands and business objectives. Collaborate directly with the VP of Marketing & Media and his team.


Product Development: Lead the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including defining product requirements, creating user stories, and managing the product backlog. Prioritise features and improvements based on business value, market research, and user feedback.


Market and Competitor Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in the sports betting and media space.


User Experience (UX): Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and engaging user experiences for both web and mobile platforms. Ensure the product meets the needs of diverse user groups, particularly within the sports betting audience.


Technical Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to ensure the successful implementation of product features. Provide clear guidance and support during development sprints, ensuring that technical solutions meet product requirements.


Performance Tracking: Monitor product performance using analytics tools, and adjust strategies to optimise user engagement, retention, and revenue growth.


Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, ensuring they are aligned with the product vision and business goals. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.




Ideal Candidate Experience:


Industry Expertise: 7+ years of product management experience within the sports betting, sports media, or sports technology industries, with a strong focus on football, live scores, and OTT sports broadcasting.


Business Acumen: Proven ability to balance business goals with product development, ensuring that product decisions align with broader commercial objectives.


Leadership Skills: Experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and driving product initiatives from concept to launch.


Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with web and mobile development processes, including agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA. Understanding of sports media, OTT platforms and sports broadcasting technologies.


Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience in using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar to track and optimise product performance.


Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Portuguese and/or French and/or Spanish speakers would be a plus.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
