This is your opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment, surrounded by forward-thinking peers.

The Communications Specialist (UK, Europe, and Asia) supports the execution of Goodwin’s external communications strategy across the firm’s largest markets outside the United States. As part of Goodwin’s integrated global External Communications team, this role plays a key part in amplifying the firm’s reputation and ensuring our story resonates across regional and international audiences.

Working closely with the London-based Senior Manager of External Communications, this individual combines strong media relationship development, strategic storytelling, and disciplined execution to elevate Goodwin’s reputation across priority industries and international markets.

What You Will Do:

Media Engagement and Market Visibility

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists across UK-based legal, business, and priority industry publications, as well as key outlets across Europe and Asia.
  • Independently execute proactive and reactive media outreach aligned with firm and industry group priorities.
  • Secure high-impact placements for Goodwin and its leaders across regional and international media outlets.
  • Craft and distribute press releases, media pitches, and related communications materials tailored to regional audiences.
  • Lead or support strategic PR campaigns that amplify firmwide initiatives and industry group priorities within the region.

Message Development and Partner Support

  • Develop clear, audience-focused messaging that reinforces Goodwin’s differentiated positioning across global markets.
  • Work closely with UK-based partners and regional leaders across Europe and Asia to identify strategic media opportunities and provide ongoing support.
  • Prepare media briefing materials and support partners and leaders in advance of interviews and press engagements.
  • Provide guidance for spokespeople and partners on media engagement best practices and positioning.

Reporting, Collaboration and Team Support

  • Coordinate day-to-day engagement with regional PR agency partners to ensure alignment on outreach, messaging, and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze regional media performance, using insights to inform more effective strategies.
  • Leverage media monitoring platforms and emerging tools, including AI-enabled technologies, to improve efficiency and impact.
  • Collaborate closely with communications colleagues globally to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Participate in structured handoffs across time zones and demonstrate flexibility during peak activity periods, major announcements, or cross-border initiatives.
  • Provide support across broader communications priorities, as needed, to contribute to firmwide initiatives beyond external communications.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • 3-5 years corporate communications or agency media relations experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in PR, media relations, or communications, preferably within a professional services or agency environment.
  • Experience working with UK-based media strongly preferred; familiarity with European and international markets is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure media placements and manage journalist relationships.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience preparing leaders for media engagement and supporting strategic PR campaigns.
  • Comfort working with media monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
