Tasks and Qualifications:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, operational challenges, buying journeys, purchasing criteria and perceptions of value.
  • Identify priority customer segments, applications and emerging opportunities through market analysis, customer research and persona-based insight.
  • Own and evolve the global marketing strategy, positioning, messaging architecture and value proposition for Flexible Automation.
  • Position technologies within customer-focused solutions, workflows and use cases, rather than presenting them solely as standalone products.
  • Translate the capabilities of AMRs, AGVs, robotics and related automation technologies into clear customer benefits and business outcomes.
  • Analyse market drivers, trends, market size and competitive activity, then turn these insights into practical portfolio and go-to-market recommendations.
  • Develop differentiated messaging based on competitor propositions, capabilities and routes to market.
  • Create sales narratives, presentations, use cases, competitive tools, training and customer-facing content that enable sales teams to win.
  • Support portfolio initiatives, launches and market activation from initial insight and strategy through to delivery and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Marketing colleagues to demonstrate how Flexible Automation integrates with fixed automation and software as part of an end-to-end solution.
  • Use customer, commercial and marketing data to assess effectiveness, refine strategy and demonstrate business impact.

Essential experience and capabilities:

  • Significant technology solutions or portfolio marketing experience gained in a complex technical environment.
  • Experience owning a product, solution or portfolio marketing strategy from customer insight and positioning through to go-to-market execution and performance measurement.
  • A strong record of translating complex technologies and capabilities into compelling value propositions, business outcomes and differentiated market messages.
  • Experience developing and delivering global or multi-market go-to-market strategies, including launches, portfolio initiatives or growth programmes.
  • Strong customer and market insight capabilities, including segmentation, customer needs, buying groups, buying journeys, market trends and competitive analysis.
  • Experience creating practical sales-enablement materials and customer-facing content.
  • The ability to influence and build effective relationships across Sales, Product Management, Technology, Marketing and regional teams in a global matrix organisation.
  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, with the ability to establish direction and personally produce high-priority messaging, briefs, content and sales tools.
  • Experience using commercial, customer or marketing data to evaluate performance and improve strategy.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in warehouse automation or intralogistics would be particularly valuable, especially exposure to autonomous mobile robots, automated guided vehicles, robotics, material handling or software-enabled automation.
  • We would also welcome applicants from the robotics or industrial automation sectors who offer strong international technology marketing experience and can quickly turn technical concepts into commercial customer value.
  • Marketing a portfolio of complementary technologies or solutions rather than a single product.
  • Developing propositions for different industries, vertical markets or customer workflows.
  • Positioning integrated solutions that combine hardware, automation and software.
  • Working across multiple markets, regions and stakeholder groups in a global organisation.

Education and professional background:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, Technology or a related discipline is expected. A relevant postgraduate, professional marketing or business qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Detailed technical expertise in automation is beneficial, but your ability to understand complex technologies quickly and communicate their customer and commercial value is more important.

Why join us?

This is a visible global role with the opportunity to influence the commercial direction of a strategically important automation portfolio. You will work at the intersection of customer insight, technology, product strategy and sales, helping colleagues and customers understand where flexible technologies can create the greatest operational value.

The role is based at our UK Head Office in Adderbury, Oxfordshire and operates on a hybrid basis during core office hours. Infrequent business travel will be required for relevant events and stakeholder meetings.

If you are an international marketing professional who enjoys turning sophisticated technology into clear, differentiated and commercially effective propositions, we would be pleased to hear from you.
