A career at KBR can change the world — and change your life.

The KBR team of teams delivers future-forward science, technology and engineering solutions and mission-critical services that help governments and companies around the world accomplish their most important objectives, while also helping achieve their sustainability goals.

About the Role

If you’re an experienced Senior Solution Architect looking for a step change in your career, this is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a fast‑growing team shaping some of the UK’s most critical programmes.

At KBR, you won’t just be responding to tenders—you’ll be influencing strategic direction, engaging customers before procurements launch, and designing solutions that protect national security, strengthen critical infrastructure, and enable safer, more resilient operations across the UK Defence, Government and Nuclear sectors.

This is a role where you will be front‑and‑centre; driving early client conversations, shaping solution strategy, and creating compelling, profitable, low‑risk solutions that deliver long‑term value to the nation.

Why this opportunity stands out from the rest…

You’ll have direct visibility of high‑value, high-impact programmes with the trust to influence clients before requirements are set. Working closely with a skilled Business Development team, you’ll shape profitable, de‑risked, and distinctive solutions, all while joining a culture where your expertise is valued and your career can accelerate quickly.

In this role, you will:

Engage directly with customers building trusted relationships and identifying opportunity pathways.

Develop innovative, future‑proof, low‑risk and profitable solutions that meet stringent security, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Business Development and Capture teams to develop winning themes, clear differentiators, and compelling technical narratives.

Produce convincing proposal content—technical volumes, architectures, white papers, estimates—that clearly articulate why your solution is the winning one.

Mentor and inspire teams, strengthening KBR’s technical capability and delivery confidence.

Engage stakeholders at every level, customers, partners, SMEs and executives, with clarity, confidence, and credibility.

All while applying your experience with:

  • Digital Engineering & MBSE

  • DevSecOps and secure‑by‑design architectures

  • System‑of‑Systems integration

  • Cyber‑resilience and safety‑critical assurance

  • Digital Logistics & Smart Asset Management

How will you make an impact?

You will have demonstrable experience in:

  • Solution selling and early client engagement across Defence, Government or Nuclear sectors.

  • Building deliverable, profitable, low‑risk solutions for major programmes.

  • Leading the technical solution for bids, pursuits, and competitive tenders.

  • Developing high‑quality technical content including BOEs, architectures, and white papers.

  • Partnering with business development, capture, and programme teams to shape winning propositions.

  • Delivering excellent stakeholder engagement - building relationships, influencing direction, and presenting confidently to senior audiences.
