Role

The Solution Engineer is a hands-on technical expert with 3+ years of experience who directly supports revenue generation by collaboratively designing and implementing data integration solutions for clients. You are a key partner to commercial stakeholders, providing the technical expertise needed to close deals and meet client business objectives effectively. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, client-facing skills, and a strong focus on delivering commercial outcomes.

This role is based in our London office, on a hybrid (3 days/week in office) schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue-Focused Consultation: Work directly with clients and sales teams to provide technical expertise on pre-sales calls, helping to scope solutions that meet client business objectives and drive deal closure. Identify missing features that block deals and document the feedback for product consideration.
  • Client Communication: Coordinate communication to clients about important changes, new features, and technical updates. Ensure clients understand impact and implementation requirements. Re-engage commercial or client stakeholders on lost commercial opportunities when feature gaps are closed.
  • Solution Building & Maintenance: Design and maintain client-specific integration solutions that meet key client business objectives, ensuring they meet client specifications and integrate seamlessly with their systems.
  • Technical Implementation & Delivery: Manage technical projects from beginning to end, ensuring successful solution integration and a high level of client satisfaction. Provide hands-on support during client onboarding and trials. Guide clients through technical challenges and troubleshoot problems. Serve as the primary technical resource for integration implementation, from hands-on work with APIs and Snowflake share to managing project timelines and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge Contribution: Document solutions, best practices, and collateral to contribute to scaling knowledge across the commercial organization, making them more effective at driving revenue. Document feedback on feature gaps that impede revenue conversion.
  • Usage Monitoring: Monitor integration usage logs for potential misuse and red flags that clients stopped using our solutions.
  • Upsell & Cross-Sell Identification: Proactively identify opportunities for upsell and cross-sell by understanding client usage and business objectives during implementation and ongoing engagements. Scale strategy to other commercial stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Maintain close collaboration with Product Strategy and Tech teams to communicate client feedback and feature requests, flag potential integration impacts from upcoming changes, and stay current on new features and product roadmap to inform clients.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support Tech during UAT for new features and product changes to validate functionality and identify integration issues before client rollout.
  • Data Quality & Issue Resolution: Identify integration data issues and coordinate with other teams to ensure timely resolution on their end. Track issues to closure.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a client-facing sales engineer, implementation manager, or similar experience, with a direct track record of supporting business and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture and API-based services.
  • Familiarity with credit instruments credit market dynamics. Understanding of credit and investment banking workflows and credit analysis processes.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills. Ability to analyze client systems and business objectives in order to design and implement data solutions.
  • Experience supporting sales teams and working in a pre-sales capacity to drive revenue.
  • Technical proficiency:
    • Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data analysis
    • Experience with REST APIs and understanding of API integration patterns
  • Nice to have:
    • Microsoft automation tools: Power Query, Power Automate, Power BI or similar tools for workflow automation and data visualization
    • Programming languages: Python, SQL, or similar for data manipulation and automation
    • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), or financial data vendors (Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv).
