Job Description

Solution Engineers are required to design, align, and position all solution components involved in a Proactis bid. This role involves proactive contribution to the sales process, from initial marketing and messaging through to implementation handover. Responsibilities include supporting campaigns, developing opportunities, understanding requirements, responding to Rfx documents, and delivering convincing, customized solution presentations for all Proactis products and services, both for new business and within the Proactis customer base. Frequent travel is expected.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in progressing sales leads through to the successful award of business.
  • Deliver compelling sales demonstrations.
  • Stay updated on business processes and legislation applicable to finance and procurement across the public and private sectors.
  • Produce high-quality Rfx responses.
  • Maintain and progress the demonstration environment.
  • Update and manage sales support presentation materials and the Rfx Library.
  • Act as the ‘voice’ of the customer, developing customer-specific proof-of-concepts and working with Product Management teams.
  • Keep up to date on trends and emerging markets.
  • Liaise with Product and Development Managers to influence product strategy in line with market trends.
  • Manage diaries effectively to avoid conflicts, ensuring flexibility, effective preparation, and journey planning.
  • Build positive working relationships with the Sales team and wider business to support teamwork.

  • Ability to articulate the benefits of the Proactis solution to relevant business processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate and articulate the latest product offerings.
  • Provision of up-to-date, high-quality solution collateral and good document management.

Experience Required

  • Proven ability to provide IT-based solutions
  • Software and consulting sales/implementation experience in business processes, ideally within a business environment or a solution provider similar to Proactis

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Procurement, accounting, or business qualification (or demonstrable understanding of accounting or procurement applications)

Solution Engineers must be enthusiastic and confident communicators, motivated by success and financial reward. They should be team players, confident in engaging with and influencing staff at all levels, both internally and externally. The role requires regular travel with occasional overnight trips as needed
