The Role

SUMMARY:

As a Solution Architect, you will bring extensive domain expertise and demonstrate proficiency in systems and technologies related to asset management, content information management, and rights and scheduling workflows. You will have deep knowledge of video, audio, subtitles, technical and editorial metadata, audio description formats, application architectures, and leading technology transformations.

You will lead the technical aspects of a large-scale digitisation project but also navigate complex approval processes and align the project with the company's strategic move towards cloud-based solutions. You should be adept at balancing cost, security, and accessibility considerations while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

We are looking for candidates who are as excited about pushing their own development as they are about advancing our technology stack.

Our core developers are passionate about software engineering and enjoy developing their skills and abilities in a friendly and supportive environment of keen learners.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

  • Media and Entertainment Systems Expertise: Significant experience developing solutions for media and entertainment platforms, focusing on integrating internal and third-party software and hardware solutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially when dealing with complex legacy applications and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate, rationalise, and explain technological decisions and options to non-technical stakeholders, including illustrating how the architecture supports business objectives and workflows.
  • Architectural Alignment: Align solutions with our architectural principles and secure buy-in from technology and business stakeholders.
  • Project Implementation: Proven track record in defining and overseeing the implementation of systems within tight deadlines.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working with agile delivery models across multiple product teams.
  • Software and Infrastructure Projects: Proficient in handling both software and infrastructure-based projects.
  • API Design: Strong API design experience and understanding of its rationale.
  • Collaborative Architecture Development: Ability to work across multiple product, operations, and business user teams, integrating diverse and sometimes conflicting objectives into a coherent future architecture.
  • Change Management: Experience working with evolving systems, with the ability to understand current solution architectures to implement changes that minimize operational and business impact.
  • Leadership and Facilitation: Deliver architectures and designs collaboratively across multiple product teams, providing leadership on broad architecture, integration patterns, and data domains while facilitating detailed work with product teams.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, architecture frameworks, or related areas are a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Program Scheduling Systems: Familiarity with systems that handle program scheduling.
  • Media Supply Chain Transformation: Experience in transforming media supply chains.
  • Metadata Management: Proficient in managing and distributing media metadata, including technical, editorial, schedule, and rights metadata, and integrating systems that produce and consume this data.
  • Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS), compute, storage, and networking designed for security and scalability, including Infrastructure as Code for configuration management.
  • Enterprise Messaging Systems: Knowledge of enterprise messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, SMS, Kafka, etc.
  • AWS Expertise: Familiarity with AWS architectures and technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • SDVI Rally: Experience working with SDVI Rally.
  • Fabric Studio: Experience working with Fabric Studio.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Be part of our collegial environment where responsibility and authority are shared equally amongst colleagues and help create our company culture
  • A culture in which we don’t criticise failure but ensure we learn from our mistakes
  • An Agile environment where your ideas are welcome
  • The possibility to grow and experience different projects
