Role Profile:The Business Consultant, provides deep domain knowledge and solution design expertise throughout the entire sales cycle by supporting customer engagements via activities such as gathering requirements, running customer workshops, solution design, developing proof of concepts, demonstrating solution capabilities, specifying deliverables in a Statement of Work and also building/delivering these solutions.
The consultant works in close partnership with the Sales team who lead the business, contractual and commercial engagement with the customer.
Solutions and services supported by the Consulting team cut across the full spectrum of capabilities within the Data and Feeds portfolio, so Solutions Architects typically have a mix of strong technical, product and customer expertise.
The successful candidate will typically have proven experience with real-time data feeds and a proven track record in supporting the sale of solutions in complex and challenging environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
This role is pivotal to the sales and delivery process, requiring coordination with colleagues in Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Customer Consulting, Product Management and other teams within LSEG, as well as third-party partners. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a solution mind-set, possess a passion for data feeds, understand the latest trends in market data and understand front to back office workflow..
Run customer workshops/ presentations
Solution workflow/technical design
Requirements clarification, specification, and documentation
Proof of Concept delivery including development/integration work
Product/Solution discussions.
Deliver demos of feeds and capabilities at client sites and via Teams for pre-sales clients
Maintain an expert level of real-time data & technology knowledge as well as product suites
Coordination with developers/third parties, Contributing to RFP and RFI responses/engagements, and overlooking data coverage checks.
Respond speedily to customer needs, working with vitality to propose creative solutions that deliver demonstrable value
Act as an advocate for customer needs to the business and product teams intensifying issues quickly
Leading an internal Solution Governance Forum, avoiding scope creep in solutions designed and mismatched expectation
Coordinating client, technical and operations partners where vital.
What You'll Bring:
Expertise: You will have had hands on experience in proposing solution designs, Realtime Feed delivery, infrastructure hosting, snap and bulk content delivery.
Technical: A deep hands-on understanding of infrastructure, hosting, cloud, Linux servers, databases, common API technologies and concepts including Websockets, Restful API’s, FTP and VPN.
Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to the dynamic, fast moving market data field.
Knowledge of Financial Markets and how they work
Industry knowledge and hands-on experience of Docker, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Python, Java
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related position
Open minded, curious, can-do attitude and enthusiastic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills are key
Critical reasoning skills in order to identify problems and provide solutions quickly. Detail Oriented.
Analytical, organized, detail oriented, multitasking, and disciplined. Proven fast learners, self-motivated, and proven logical reasoning skills
Ability to effectively work within a team and to collaborate is required
Client-facing experience
English and fluency in one other main European language would be a plus
Bachelors degree in engineering or sciences
Knowledge of competitive data feeds would be a plus
Working knowledge of Refinitiv products would be a plus
