Department OverviewYou will join R&D in Uxbridge (London, UK). You will work closely with the Avigilon Alta Cloud products (cameras, appliances, video management system and mobile apps)
Job Description
This is a hybrid role working between our Uxbridge offices and home working.
To make sure the software meets the right requirements to be sold worldwide in hundred-thousands and meet the expectations of the Avigilon Alta Cloud customers in terms of reliability and robustness. Your day to day work will require you to be hands on, helping testing the Avigilon Alta Cloud solution end to end as well as testing of new features and improving test routines and processes. You will be working alongside the Ava test team and the rest of the software team and report findings and issues to the broader development team. You will be able to use your creativity and push yourself to find new ways of making our products break - to make sure we find all the issues before our customers do.
Basic Requirements
Do you like being hands-on and would be enthusiastic working with HW/SW products that are state of the art in a global industry? Do you care for robustness and reliability of products? Do you have some experience with testing and want to develop yourself as a tester alongside learning more about labs and hw? Then you may be the one we are looking for.
You're not expected to have all of the following skills, but they will be useful in performing your job. We are looking for someone who:
- Is a critical thinker, with an urge to learn new things and new technologies.
- Has good troubleshooting skills.
- Is creative.
- Is self-driven.
- Is proficient in English.
- Has a few years of experience with software testing.
- It is also considered a bonus if you are:
- Good with lab setups (networking, cabling, carpenting - generally finding creative ways of building test rigs to more effectively perform testing).
- Experienced with test automation and basic scripting in e.g. Python.
- Experience with api-based testing.
