At CoMind, we are developing a non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that will result in a new era of clinical brain monitoring. In joining us, you will be helping to create cutting-edge technologies that will improve how we diagnose and treat brain disorders, ultimately improving and saving the lives of patients across the world.

The Role

As a member of the CoMind Software Team, you will play a central role in developing, maintaining, and optimising the software powering our existing fleet of neuromonitoring products. Working closely with hardware, product, and clinical engineering teams, you will diagnose issues, implement durable fixes, and ensure software reliability and performance across our deployed fleet.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the product development organisation to bring our next-generation neuromonitoring platform from prototype to production.

At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week from our new Kings Cross offices, plus a flexible work-from-home day.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation & Compliance: Develop software solutions and support cross-functional development activities, ensuring adherence to all phases of design control, including requirements definition, design documentation, risk analysis, implementation, code reviews, and integration testing

  • Software Maintenance: Maintain and update software for safety-critical systems

  • Process Improvement: Actively contribute to Lean/Agile initiatives

  • Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years in software development, particularly for complex or safety-critical systems

  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ and Python

  • Industry Background: Experience in highly regulated industries, preferably in medical device development

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with multi-tasking systems (real-time preferable) and familiarity with signal processing or AI/ML applications using CUDA on GPUs (preferred)

  • Development Approach: Knowledge of agile methodologies and best practices in software development

  • Tools & Practices: Proficiency with version control systems (e.g. Git/Bitbucket), debugging tools, CI/CD pipelines, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Benefits:

  • Company equity plan so all employees share in the success of the company

  • Salary-sacrifice pension scheme

  • Private medical, dental and vision insurance (medical history disregarded)

  • Group life assurance at 4x annual income

  • Comprehensive mental health support, including unlimited access to 1:1 sessions with trained professionals

  • Unlimited holiday allowance (+ bank holidays) and one week of remote working per quarter

  • Free lunch every day via JustEat and free dinner on those days where you need to work later

  • Twice weekly deliveries of fresh fruit and a comprehensive selection of snacks and drinks

  • YuLife subscription, allowing you to turn your daily steps and meditation into discounts at a range of stores

  • Access to Udemy for upskilling and professional development
