Go.Compare are seeking a skilled and proactive Software Engineer to join our partner integration team, supporting our senior engineers in building and maintaining our core platform. This mid-level role is perfect for an engineer who wants to expand their technical skills and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be a key player in developing robust, scalable, and high-quality software solutions that directly impact our business.
Working closely with Partner integration, New Builds, Product, Due diligence and compliance teams you will ensure that all applications integrate reliably. You will also be expected to mentor engineers, junior/graduate engineers & trainee engineers, contributing to their growth, knowledge, and reviewing their code.
As a Software Engineer, you will be the backbone of the team building out our systems while also being able to input into the architecture and design. You will work with engineers at all levels to deliver our platform and meet both the customers and our business needs.
You will ensure changes are scalable, tested, and developed in line with best practices, and that we are always improving our codebase.
Your opinion matters within your role - your peers will look to you as a key player within the team. You will be expected to follow our standard practices and input into how they can be improved and kept up to date with emerging tools and methods.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve- C# and SQL Server: Proven experience in building applications using C# and working with SQL Server for database management and development.
- API Experience: Hands-on experience with developing integrations, a solid understanding of API design principles and best practices is essential.
- Complementary Tech Stack: A solid working knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Next.js, along with experience using Node.js APIs calling MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases is also highly beneficial.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from and teach others.
The expected range for this role is £35,000 - £40,000
