Job Description
Behind every investment is a person with ambitions, motivations and values. While we know that every client is unique, they come to Nutmeg for the same reason: our straightforward and transparent approach to investing.
Nutmeg is a J.P. Morgan company offering award-winning investments, products and digital wealth management services to over 250,000 investors in the UK. We built the business from scratch, with constant innovation a core part of our ethos since the beginning. We aim to provide clients with the best digital investing experience, ensuring digital security and customer satisfaction - meaning you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference.
As an iOS Engineer at Nutmeg (part of JPMorgan Chase), you will work within one of multiple squads to extend, maintain and innovate on the existing native iOS app. We take advantage of technologies such as SwiftUI, Async/Await and Combine to deliver an easy to use and responsive experience to our customers. We are always innovating, with proprietary SwiftUI charts, widgets, advanced theming, and more. We also integrate the investment experience directly to the millions of users on the Chase app, offering a seamless banking and investment journey, which continues to evolve and expand. Our target is to deliver a delightful experience that is easy to understand, lowers barriers to entry, and helps our customers reach their financial goals.
Our iOS team is at the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. We're looking for people who have a curious mindset, thrive in collaborative squads, and are passionate about new technology. By their nature, our people are also solution-oriented, commercially savvy and have a head for fintech. We work in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects - and depending on your strengths and interests, you'll have the opportunity to move between them.
While we're looking for professional skills, culture is just as important to us. We understand that everyone's unique - and that diversity of thought, experience and background is what makes a good team, great. By bringing people with different points of view together, we can represent everyone and truly reflect the communities we serve. This way, there's scope for you to make a huge difference - on us as a company, and on our clients and business partners around the world
Job responsibilities:
• Own tasks from estimation through release and post production in an Agile SDLC
• Help identify, investigate and resolve issues both internal and external to the team
• Write high quality, well tested code, and help others achieve the same via code reviews
• Help with or own bi-weekly releases, and help us continually improve this process
• Share knowledge via weekly iOS talks, where you can propose improvements, explore new technologies and give feedback to others ideas.
• Collaborate with others on Technical Initiatives to evolve and improve the codebase and toolset
• Identify and help reduce technical debt
• Work closely with other teams across domains and technologies to deliver the best solution for any problem or feature
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
• Formal training/certification of native iOS mobile app development, or relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit
• Experience writing unit and UI tests with XCTest
• Experience with MVVM architecture or similar, ideally with coordinators
• Proactive team player who is willing to help others, mentor and give feedback
• Likes to contribute, innovate, bring new ideas and share knowledge Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
• Experience/understanding of dependency injection, modularisation and CLEAN architecture
• Understanding of iOS app deployment, submission and approval on the App Store
• Experience/understanding of CI/CD processes and tools
• Dependency management with SPM and CocaPods
• Good knowledge of accessibility tools and technologies, and how to meet accessibility requirements • Knowledge of app security, encryption and user privacy
• Experience with design systems and white labelling
