As an iOS Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be a part of a flat-structure organization. Your responsibilities are to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices. You are expected to be involved in the design and architecture of the solutions while also focusing on the entire SDLC lifecycle stages.
Our Native App Platform team is at the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. We're looking for people who have a curious mindset, thrive in collaborative squads, and are passionate about new technology. By their nature, our people are also solution-oriented, commercially savvy and have a head for fintech. While our app uses React Native for user experiences, The Native App Platform team provides capabilities for the other feature squads to deliver secure and performant features with ease.
Job responsibilities:

  • Build a secure and performant native platform


  • Develop and maintain CI/CD scripting for Chase UK iOS app


  • Engage in architecture discussions, code reviews, pair programming


  • Write unit and end to end integration tests, and participate in manual testing 'bug bash' sessions


  • Collaborate with Android and React Native peers


  • Support product stakeholders in team ceremonies and product planning


  • Liaise with platform stakeholders and external vendors


  • Advocate for platform best practices and customers' best interests


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Solid understanding of Apple ecosystem and iOS platform standards


  • Understanding of mobile app networking best practices


  • Comfortable with learning and juggling multiple programming and scripting languages (think Swift, TypeScript, Bash, Python, Kotlin, Groovy, C++)


  • Understanding of build tooling and iOS project configuration


  • Keen eye for detail when it comes to app performance


  • Ability to demonstrate forward-thinking when making architectural decisions


  • Passionate about building a solid app foundation


  • Self-driven when it comes to investigating customer issues


  • Excellent debugging skills


Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with React Native stack, including Expo


  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform


  • Experience with building logging, monitoring, and analytics capabilities


  • Strong background working with app security


  • Understanding of basics of TLS and certificate pinning


  • Understanding of basic cryptographic algorithms and protocols
