As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking Payments Technology division, you will play a pivotal role as an experienced member of an agile team, designing and delivering reliable, industry-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your responsibilities include implementing crucial technology solutions across a range of technical areas within various business functions, all in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Drive the development of SRE best practices and champion stability and resiliency within the estate
- Partner with peers to define and implement against delivery roadmaps for features that deliver direct value to our users
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience
- Advanced knowledge of Object oriented programming - Java, Spring and associated back end technologies
- Strong knowledge of Relational DB technologies - SQL, Oracle, and working knowledge on noSql databases
- Knowledge on MQ, Kafka
- Hands-on practical experience in system design & architecture, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands on experience with Kubernetes (or CKAD certification)
- Exposure to data analytics stacks
- Experience with UI technologies like Typescript, React, Vite, and Jest is a plus.
