About the role
Team you’ll be working in: Hold
The Hold team is part of the Global Product tribe. The team has dual nature - one one side we are product team - we work end to end on customer facing features, such as sharing account for multiple people, converting money from currency to currency, adding money to account; on the other side - we own and evolve the main ledger of Wise Account - processing millions of transactions per day and powering Card spending, Direct Debits and other products.
What will you be working on?

Mission-critical components of Wise Account, their scalability and public APIs

Product surfaces that customers interact with on a daily basis - currencies, money movements, etc.

Recently launched Group Spending product - our take on classical Joint Accounts.
What do you need?

A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points

Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Leading and inspiring your team of engineers to build the prioritise building right things, in the right way

Ability to deliver work across multiple teams, coordinating your efforts across the organisation.. Your work will frequently involve cross-team collaboration.

Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value
-
Experience in developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment
-
Experience working with relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas is a plus
-
Knowledge of Java and Spring boot and experience with a messaging system, like Kafka, is a plus
