The Opportunity

To achieve our ambitious goals, we're looking for a Software Engineer to join a fairly new team building an entirely new product within the company: Advanced Voice Input. Our mission is to enable users to work with their devices and AI agents through voice and to make people more productive by using voice as a primary input.

The team's key focus is developing the internal services and front-end SDKs that process voice and translate it into text, commands, or whatever the user needs. The primary focus area is a back-end service written in Go that handles all user connectivity, calls voice models, post-processes output, and manages the quality of our voice engine.

You'll join a fairly small team as a back-end engineer, focused on building new features and improving the service's quality and reliability. Like other engineers at Superhuman, you're expected to own your solutions end-to-end — from concept to implementation to maintenance. We're looking for someone with an open mind and curiosity toward using AI-coding tools while building this service.

This is a rare opportunity to help define a brand-new product from the ground up, with plenty of room for ownership and direct impact.

As a Software Engineer, you will:
  • Build and ship new features for a back-end voice-processing service, and improve its quality and reliability in production.

  • Own solutions end-to-end — from concept and idea, through implementation and ongoing maintenance.

  • Use AI coding tools with curiosity and help find ways to build reliable, automated development loops.

  • Build and maintain observability into a large-scale, high-usage production system.

  • Partner closely with engineers across multiple teams—including Mobile (iOS, Android), Browser Extensions, and Mac and Windows clients—to deliver a cohesive end user experience.

  • Help shape a roadmap: explore directions, define experiments, and decide what to ship and when.

  • Evaluate the systems and technology currently in place, and propose an architecture that can scale for the future.

Qualifications
  • Experience with scalability and reliability of back-end services, including building observability systems and maintaining large-scale systems in production.

  • A track record of building and shipping features within services that handle a high volume of usage.

  • Some experience working with AI coding tools.

  • Strong product intuition — the ability to identify and prioritize solutions to problems that matter most to users and the product.

  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

Support for you, professionally and personally
  • Professional Growth: We believe that autonomy and trust are key to empowering our team members to do their best, most innovative work in a way that aligns with their interests, talents, and well-being

  • A connected team: Superhuman builds a product that helps people connect, and we apply this mindset to our own team. Our remote-first, hybrid model enables a highly collaborative culture rooted in our values. We work to foster belonging among team members in a variety of ways. This includes our team member resource groups, Superhuman Circles, which promote connection among those with shared identities including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ team members, women, and parents. We also celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific programs.

  • Comprehensive benefits for candidates based in Germany: Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing life care (including mental health care and risk benefits) and ample and defined time off. We also offer support to set up a home office, wellness and pet care stipends, learning and development opportunities, and more.

  • Relocation Support: Superhuman provides relocation support to make your move to Berlin seamless. Our package includes visa assistance, destination services to help you and your family settle in comfortably, and a relocation bonus to cover additional expenses, such as temporary housing.

We encourage you to apply

At Superhuman, we value our differences, and we encourage all—especially those whose identities are traditionally underrepresented in tech organizations—to apply.
