Job Description
How we work
We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We’re looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; occasionally collaborating with the rest of the platform tribe.
As we grow, the number of services to power the Wise products is constantly increasing. We need to ensure that for these services the maintenance effort is low whilst the quality and performance is kept high. We’re looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can get their hands dirty, dive deep into a problem domain and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.
What will you be working on?
You will be working on foundational features that help us scale Wise

New microservice chassis framework facilitating:

Interacting with databases, kafka
-
Handling service-to-service communication
-
Automated refactoring across a fleet of hundreds microservices
-
-
Dependency management tooling
-
Automated, fuss-free dependency updates
-
Scheduled mass pull request creation
-

Exploring new tech/frameworks Wise could leverage
Qualifications
What do you need?

You have previous experience of working in company with microservice environment

Experience in building/maintaining software using Java in a production environment

You understand the value of balancing customer centric thinking and technical skills and can coach other engineers on both

You enjoy working in a highly collaborative team where ideas are shared openly and discussed frankly
