The Software Development Operations and Process Facilitator will help ensure the smooth operation of 20+ software development teams by ensuring teams are setup and configured for efficient communication, coordinating project management tasks, and facilitating retrospective meetings and continuous improvement processes across the organization. This role involves a blend of process optimization, project management, and interpersonal engagement to enhance team performance, collaboration, and innovation. This role is dynamic and will require adapting to the changing needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enable effective communication and collaboration for cross-team projects as the project manager.
    • Run project kickoffs, check ins, and wrap up meetings.
    • Use project management tools to track status.
    • Monitor project progress against milestones.
    • Provide updates to project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate monthly retrospective meetings across the organization's teams.
    • Employ a variety of facilitation techniques to encourage open communication, honest feedback, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Assist teams in identifying actionable improvements and ensure they are documented and tracked to completion.
  • Build trust and rapport within the technology team, positioning yourself as a key support figure for navigating challenges and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and document processes to ensure that the organization operates effectively
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of processes, suggesting and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Provide insights to leadership to keep them informed about the organization's ongoing activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role or in software development, project management, or related field.
  • Outgoing and personable.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead meetings.
  • Ability to summarize complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Solid understanding of the SDLC.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work.
  • Experience with scripting in Python or willingness to learn.
