ABOUT THE PROJECT/ROLE:

You’ll join a diverse, multi-skilled engineering team in the UK, working on aviation reference data that powers OAG’s core products. We operate with a T-shaped engineering mindset — deep expertise in your craft, with the flexibility to collaborate across disciplines when needed.

This is a hands-on SDET role where you’ll take ownership of test strategy, frameworks, tooling, and data validation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated and manual testing frameworks across data pipelines and product surfaces
  • Own end-to-end test strategy, covering data validation, APIs, and user-facing workflows
  • Create and maintain API tests to validate service integrations and data contracts
  • Build UI and end-to-end automated tests to ensure product workflows function correctly from data ingestion through to user experience
  • Design and execute performance and reliability testing to ensure systems scale under load
  • Validate and verify complex datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and correctness across environments
  • Test ETL processes and data transformations end-to-end
  • Embed quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated tests run early and often
  • Work closely with developers to review code and champion testability and quality
  • Proactively identify gaps in coverage and improve tooling, frameworks, and processes

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

Essential

  • Strong experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks
  • Proficiency in C# (or strong experience in Java or TypeScript)
  • Experience with API testing and service-level validation
  • Experience building UI and end-to-end automated tests for web applications
  • Strong SQL skills with experience validating complex datasets
  • Experience testing data pipelines and ETL workflows
  • Experience with performance and non-functional testing
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with Playwright
  • Experience with JMeter
  • Exposure to ETL processes
  • Big Data experience (e.g. Databricks, BigQuery)
  • Experience testing cloud-native systems (Azure preferred)

BEHAVIOURS WE VALUE:

  • Strong ownership mindset with a passion for quality
  • Curious and continuously learning
  • Comfortable challenging requirements when things don’t add up
  • Collaborative, open to feedback, and supportive of team success
  • Able to balance pragmatism with engineering excellence

WE WILL OFFER YOU:

  • A flexible hybrid or fully remote working model — you choose
  • A non-hierarchical, engineering-led culture focused on innovation
  • Opportunities to work on globally impactful data products
  • Well-being support and employee assistance resources
  • Team events, workshops, and shared learning sessions
  • Opportunities to travel to other OAG offices
  • Generous annual leave, increasing with service
  • A day off during your birthday month
