Our SketchUp team is recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to work in our SketchUp Habitat team. The SketchUp Habitat team builds cloud-based software for architects who use SketchUp. Millions of people use SketchUp for designing, modelling and visualising their projects. Our team builds tools such as Add Location, PreDesign and Sefaira which help architects improve the design of sustainable and high-performance buildings in the conceptual phase of a project.

As one of our Quality Assurance Engineers you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our web applications and extensions. As this is a role covering both web and desktop applications, we are looking for someone with experience in one or the other and with a willingness to expand their skill set. Ideal candidates have 3 to 5 years of experience in manual testing of web and mobile apps and are curious and willing to learn new things.

Reporting into our Software Engineering Manager but working in a matrix structure of roughly twelve colleagues across different functions not just within QA, you’ll work very closely with our internal Development team as well as third-party Developers. You’ll manually test product features and updates as well as becoming one of the main points of contact for colleagues across Europe.

What You Will Do:

  • Taking full responsibility for the QA phase for one of our development teams, manually testing newly introduced features, reproducing customer issues, and ensuring product quality

  • Working closely with the development team and product owner to ensure requirements are met

  • Modification of existing automated tests as required by product changes

  • Logging issues found in the defect tracking system

  • Development and execution of test plans and test cases according to project requirements.

  • Improving the documentation for QA processes and test cases

  • Provide third line support for the customer success teams as required

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in manual software testing in web and/or desktop environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and as part of a team

  • Good verbal and written communications and organisational skills

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Scripting in Typescript or Javascript

  • Familiarity with Cypress Testing

  • Test automation with REST Assured/Java

  • Familiarity with AWS
