We’re searching for our next marketing hire - a leader in social-first video content to distribute our content to the world and build a significant audience on socials.

About Giant Ventures

Giant is a multi-stage venture capital firm backing purpose-driven technology founders solving the world’s most critical challenges. At Giant, we believe brand and creativity is fundamental to the success of our business and our portfolio companies.

Based in London, with colleagues in the US and Denmark, we invest in technology businesses from the earliest stages to Series B and beyond across Europe and the US. We are a team of former founders and operators, supported by an advisory board of global leaders. Giant is on track to invest $1B into purpose-driven technology this decade.

Role Overview

Over the past few years, we’ve built a brand around our unique story, from social media to the Giant Ideas podcast. We are now looking for a Social Media Storyteller to support the Head of Marketing to nail distribution: telling that story, pushing our reach to new heights, and growing our reach - with a focus on social media and video editing.

The core of the role is building a significant audience on socials: through hands-on work creating video clips, visuals and more. The goal will be to create a content machine across social channels, using the library of long-form interview content we create weekly. As a Social Media Storyteller at Giant Ventures, you will spend most of your time on social growth - including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, with any remaining time spent supporting the team on other areas of marketing. You will report into the Head of Marketing.

In the First Six Months You Will:

  • Video edit at speed: Plan, create, and schedule content that heroes our portfolio, team, and insights. Social media: Expand Giant’s audience (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Monitor and find trends: X, LinkedIn, newsletters, podcasts etc to find and report on the angles that people care about.
  • Design & execute a strategic social plan to amplify our content furtherAnalyse & optimise: Monitor and analyse performance metrics, adapting the strategy for reach and engagement. Experiment: Try new formats and collaborations to drive organic growth
  • Support on adhoc marketing tasks: from writing Giant’s newsletters, updating the website, to support executing occasional events.

About You

This role will suit someone who lives and breathes social content, can video-edit with their eyes closed, and who has ambition to grow their marketing experience beyond social. You will know that fast execution beats strategy, have a deep respect for brand, and sweat the small stuff. You will understand online culture and know the tech world (even if you’ve never worked in it). You will have a test + learn mindset, will be able to spin up a reel in 10 minutes, and you will work fast.

As we are a small team, we will expect you to both lead (growing our social presence) but also be able to take guidance and direction. We are a team where everyone mucks in, and where the mission is bigger than anyone’s one role.

Mandatories:

  • Evidence of exceptional video editing skills, especially short form content. This is not a role for someone to learn video editing on the job.
  • A portfolio of social campaigns you ran from start to finish: We’re looking for a proven track record in content creation in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience managing content calendars - from social posting, to creating content.
  • Clear interest and opinions on what works online
  • A strong understanding of how to balance brand nuance with virality

You are:

  • A hands-on executor and a builder: you get things done without overthinking, and you take pride in seeing projects through with a high attention to detail.
  • Driven by speed and improvement, quick to learn what’s working and what’s not - and iterate and change direction based on the latest trends and algorithm changes.
  • You live online and are likely an expert in social growth, but also want to get involved in wider marketing initiatives and expand out to become a marketing leader.
  • You are hard working and detail-oriented: you bring care to your work and never miss a typo. You ensure all output reflects Giant’s brand voice and standards.
  • You are kind, collaborative, and a team player. At Giant, we are a small team who get on well, and there is no room for ego.

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Competitive compensation
  • Great benefits - including a wellbeing contribution, free lunch on Tuesdays, excellent private dental and health insurance, and annual team offsites (Morocco this year, Paris last year)
  • Exposure to the venture capital and startup ecosystem and leaders within it; you will meet iconic founders, scientists and prime ministers who’ve shaped history
  • Huge growth opportunities to become a marketing leader in the field
  • Ownership and responsibility in shaping Giant’s voice and brand
  • Opportunity to learn from deals, founders, and portfolio activity
  • A mission-driven, ambitious, and collaborative team culture
