The role in a nutshell 

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team to build the foundations and lead our social media efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy, managing content creation, and overseeing all aspects of social media channels and social proof mechanics. This role requires a keen understanding of the digital landscape, a passion for staying ahead of trends, and the ability to engage audiences effectively.

  • Build and Execute Social Media Strategy
  • Develop and implement a robust social media strategy aligned with overall marketing objectives.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly assess the success of social media initiatives.

  • Community Management
  • Actively engage with our social media communities on a daily basis.
  • Foster positive interactions, respond to comments and messages, address inquiries or concerns promptly.
  • Monitor brand mentions and sentiment to contribute to a positive online reputation.
  • Work in collaboration with the CS team to optimise the user journey and improve customer satisfaction at all social touchpoints.

  • Content Calendar Management
  • Generate creative content ideas based on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor analysis.
  • Develop a detailed content calendar outlining the deployment schedule for text, imagery, and video content.

  • Content Creation
  • Create engaging and on-brand content, including visuals, videos, and written posts.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with the target audience.

  • Scheduling and Deployment
  • Schedule and deploy content across various social media platforms at optimal times.
  • Monitor real-time engagement and respond to audience interactions promptly.

  • Social Proof Management
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance the company’s presence and reputation on key B2C platforms (Trustpilot, Feefo, Google Reviews) and B2B platforms (TrustRadius, G2, Capterra).
  • Proactively monitor and respond to reviews, fostering positive interactions and addressing concerns to maintain a strong brand reputation.
  • Build and manage feedback loops, ensuring customer feedback is effectively utilized to improve products, services, and overall customer experience.
  • Leverage social proof by integrating reviews, ratings, and testimonials across marketing channels (social media, email, website, and ads) to boost credibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., customer service, marketing, and product) to align feedback insights with broader business goals.
  • Track, analyze, and report on review performance and sentiment trends to drive continuous improvement and advocacy efforts.

  • Paid Social Activities
  • Own and manage both organic and paid social media activities, including budget allocation and optimisation.
  • Collaborate with different teams to connect web/email/social and optimise the funnel.
  • Build and manage segments within Meta Suite for effective audience targeting and engagement.

  • Reporting & Test and Learn
  • Implement analytics tools to measure the performance of social media campaigns.
  • Generate regular reports highlighting key metrics, insights, and areas for improvement.

  • Competitive Analysis and Trend Monitoring
  • Stay abreast of updates and features within Meta Suite platforms to optimise social media efforts.
  • Monitor competitors and industry trends to ensure the brand remains innovative and competitive.
  • Use insights from competitors to inform content strategy and audience engagement.

The experience you bring to the table

  • Expertise - A seasoned professional in all aspects of Social Media Management (6-8 years), you're adept from strategy development to performance reporting. Possess a strong knowledge of industry best practices, staying abreast of trends, and ensuring compliance with regulations and GDPR.
  • Creative Flair - Your creative prowess shines through in crafting compelling copy, designing eye-catching visuals, and paying meticulous attention to detail. Your understanding of User Experience translates into creating engaging and aesthetically pleasing social media content. Familiarity with graphic design software and video editing tools is a plus.
  • Tech Savviness - Proficiency in managing social media platforms, utilising scheduling tools, and leveraging analytics is essential. Experience with platforms like Hootsuite/Later/Buffer is preferred. Knowledge of additional tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud is a bonus but not critical. Basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills are advantageous.
  • Analytical Mindset - Navigate through social media analytics tools with ease, utilising platforms like Facebook Insights or Instagram Analytics. Proficient in generating insightful reports using tools such as Google Analytics or Data Studio. Your analytical acumen is evident in your ability to derive meaningful insights from social media metrics and adapt strategies accordingly.
