About the role

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager, fluent in both German and English, to craft engaging content for anime fans across the EMEA region. You’ll create original posts, adapt global campaigns, and bring exciting stories to life. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Social Media, you’ll manage channels, work with cross-functional teams, and connect with a passionate community.

You will work closely with the Audience Development team, which is responsible for one of the entertainment industry's largest social media networks, with over 130 million followers worldwide across every major platform with continued growth far beyond industry standards. If you love fandoms and engaging with dedicated audiences, this is the role for you!

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop and share engaging content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Translate and adapt global campaigns for EMEA audiences, especially in the German market.
  • Oversee daily community management and promote anime titles to grow and engage audiences.
  • Collaborate with teams across brand, editorial, PR, and content operations for effective campaigns.
  • Execute, track, and report on social media strategies and goals.
  • Stay updated on social media and anime community trends to keep content relevant.
  • Work with the editorial team to drive traffic to Crunchyroll News.
  • Maintain Crunchyroll’s authentic tone and build strong relationships with fans.
  • Monitor social media metrics and adjust tactics for better results.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns and track performance.
  • Occasionally manage social channels during evenings and weekends.
  • Explore new platforms, content types, and practices to stay ahead in social media trends.

About You

  • You have 5+ years of experience in social media or community marketing, ideally in entertainment or media.
  • You are fluent in English and German, written and spoken, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • You have a deep understanding of major social platforms, know how to tailor content for each, and can mentor others in best practices.
  • You have proven success with creative and innovative social media campaigns, including paid media.
  • You have experience using analytics and data to drive growth and engagement strategies.
  • You have intermediate or higher proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or similar tools.
  • You are familiar with workflow and project management tools for handling social requests and cross-team collaboration.
  • You have a strong understanding of fandom communities in the German market, such as anime, gaming, comics, sports, music or other pop culture genres.
  • You have a keen sense of internet culture, trends, and content storytelling.
