About the Team
 

The GSMA Brand and Content Strategy team comprises diverse expertise in Editorial, Branding, Social Media, Video Production, Design, and Strategic functions, like Content, Email and Data. Combining creative minds and strategic communicators, these teams craft compelling content for diverse audiences, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand identity and narrative across multiple touchpoints.

Our Social Media team members are responsible for implementing social media activity across the GSMA, managing a broad range of social media platforms. With a small number of social experts, it is expected that everyone takes on all aspects of social media management as needed. The team manages both organic and paid social media campaigns for different parts of the organisation, supporting our Global MWC and M360 event series and GSMA programme marketing.

About the Role
 

As our Social Media Executive, you will collaborate closely with the wider Marketing & Creative teams to create engaging content for key business areas. Your responsibilities will include:

•    Overseeing key social media activity across channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
•    Assisting the Social Media Manager in various elements of social media, including innovative content creation, copywriting, scheduling, and reporting.
•    Planning and managing content calendars for GSMA social channels, aligning with wider marketing plans for key business areas.
•    Taking charge of social media community management by monitoring conversations, tracking trends, and engaging with our audiences.
•    Creating engaging social media assets (short-form video, imagery, memes, GIFs, carousels) for different platforms.
•    Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to create compelling and relevant content.
•    Help develop a strategy for a potential new platform for our MWC event series – TikTok 
•    Staying up-to-date with the latest social trends, platforms, and news.

About You
 

You will be a proactive team player, passionate about social media, with a fundamental understanding of various social media platforms. Key experience and attributes include:

•    Keen interest in the technology industry.
•    Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
•    Creative mindset and ability to identify opportunities & implement them.
•    Advanced knowledge of social media tools & platforms.
•    Experience using Photoshop, Canva and Premiere Pro to create engaging visual content (or alternative image and video editing tools) would be an advantage.
•    Understanding of social media business processes and CRM/database management.
•    Highly organised, bringing structure, rigour, and consistency to the day-to-day delivery of our social media strategy.
•    Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across various teams and regions.
•    Keen interest in all social media platforms, in particular LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok.
