Homes & Gardens is looking for an ambitious, creatively minded Social Media Assistant to help shape its next chapter. Working at the heart of a globally recognised brand, this role supports the Social Media Editor in creating standout, best-in-class content that drives engagement, traffic and audience growth, while building real cultural relevance and brand fame. It’s a brilliant opportunity to learn, experiment and make your mark on a major media brand with serious authority and reach.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Social Media Editor, you'll support in the implementation of the social media strategy. You'll support the SME with the planning and creation of content, including but not limited to; curating content from the website and print for use on social channels; briefing internal video teams and external parties e.g. designers and tastemakers; shooting and editing on iPhone.

Take ownership of scheduling across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp.

Own community management; checking and responding to messages and comments daily to engage our community, foster growth and encourage conversation.

Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure key articles and hero stories are supported across the relevant channels.

Proactively pitch fun formats, new ideas and innovative ways to drive engagement, traffic and growth.

Monitor social trends and track cultural moments, sharing knowledge with the wider team to help inform the content calendar.

Attend shoots and events both to capture content for use on social and represent the brand at industry-facing events.

Support the team with general administrative duties.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve
  • A true passion for all things social media and a thorough understanding of platform roles and formats
  • A creative thinker with a strong analytical mindset
  • Superb organisational and written skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • A team player who is also happy taking initiative when working independently
  • Confident in shooting and editing on iPhone (CapCut, native tools etc.)
  • A finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest trends, platforms and the cultural zeitgeist
  • A positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude
  • Experience with Canva necessary
  • Experience with Dash Social ideal
