Job Description:

About Us

Storyful is a news and intelligence agency, now part of Dow Jones. Founded in 2010, the News & Content business sources, verifies and distributes user-generated content, breaking-news footage, and viral videos to news outlets, broadcasters and media organizations. Content is available to download through Newswire by Storyful, the world’s first social media newswire.

Storyful Intelligence helps partners understand the attitudes, behaviors, and emotions shaping the world. Our mission is to provide intelligence-driven marketing and communications strategies to business leaders by delving into the nuances of social and digital media intelligence.

Storyful’s direct-to-consumer social properties have millions of subscribers and followers, generating millions of views each month. Storyful is focused on building social audiences, monetizing clips, and the development of new formats and opportunities with platform partners, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, while also leveraging video content to support marketing, brand, and commercial objectives across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Growth, you will be responsible for owning the development of compelling video formats, series, and content outputs to bring the Storyful brand to life across Storyful-owned channels as well as marketing and commercial touch points.

Always thinking about new and creative ways to improve video and visual storytelling to drive engagement and impact across both consumer and professional audiences, you will collaborate with stakeholders from across the company to create high-performing social-first content and marketing video assets.

You will proactively enhance relationships with platforms, content creators, communities, and other partners that can help us identify creative opportunities that push our brand in new, exciting directions and support audience growth, brand visibility, and monetization opportunities. This person should have proven experience creating and leveraging original content to drive measurable engagement and performance across multiple digital channels.

Understanding that different audiences on different platforms will require different approaches, you will experiment to identify the most effective formats and engaging approaches for various channels and evolve those formats based on performance insights and business priorities.

This position will be based in Midtown Manhattan and work in the office 3 days each week.

You Will

  • Oversee and create video content, from start to finish, for social, marketing and owned channels - owning the full lifecycle from concept through to distribution and performance optimization.

  • Lead production and editing of marketing video content — including talk-to-camera pieces, explainer videos, and promotional reels — optimized for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

  • Identify new video content opportunities, based on relevant cultural or audience insights, current events, and social trends, and translate these into repeatable, scalable content format that can support both audience growth and marketing objectives

  • Create innovative graphics, visuals, and other video content forms to create engaging editorial and marketing materials for our Storyful owned channels and projects.

  • Work directly with key members of the social and marketing team to complete timely tasks and projects, as well as work cross functionally between other departments to create valued content that aligns with audience, brand, and commercial objectives.

  • Leverage Storyful’s Newswire assets and Intelligence outputs to identify, curate, and transform high-potential content into engaging, platform-native video formats for distribution across social and marketing channels.

  • Use industry-standard editing and production tools to rapidly create and iterate content based on performance data and audience insights.

  • Define and optimize against key performance metrics including watch time, retention, engagement, and audience growth.

You Have

  • 5+ years experience in video production and content creation with a strong focus on social and digital platforms (experience across both audience growth and/or marketing contexts is a plus)

  • Video expertise and an understanding of the social media landscape as a whole, each platform's various nuances, and the latest in social trends

  • An understanding of how content can be adapted for different audience types and objectives

  • Fluency with social media platforms, marketing tools, and digital media insights

  • Video production and gifted storytelling skills with the understanding of the power of video content across both social and marketing contexts

  • Proficiency using Adobe Premiere and other editing platforms (CapCut, DaVinci Resolve) to produce and cut social-first video content

  • Hands-on experience directing and producing on-camera talent, including shoot setup, teleprompter use, and basic lighting for studio or office environments

  • Demonstrated ability to create content that delivers measurable performance — whether in audience growth, engagement, or marketing impact

  • Graphics creation proficiency

  • Initiative with a bias toward action and the ability to take ownership

  • A strong communicator and cross-functional collaborator

  • Strong organization, time and project management skills

  • Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines

  • Willingness to work in our Midtown Manhattan office three days per week
