Social Content Creation Intern

Location: London, United Kingdom | Employment type: Fixed-term internship (6 months)

 About our team

The Global Brand & Marketing team at SumUp is in the middle of expanding our presence beyond B2B into B2C, with a bold creative vision and a growing social media footprint. Our Social Media team is building a content engine that feels genuinely native to each platform, and we need a Social Content Creator Intern who lives and breathes social to help us bring it to life. Based in London, you'll have front-row access to some of the UK's biggest live events, jumping on what's organically trending and heading out in the field to capture content that actually stops the scroll.

 What you'll do
  • Create short-form video, photography, and image content that feels native to Instagram and TikTok — not adapted for them, but made for them
  • Pitch content ideas in editorial meetings every week, bringing trend-spotted opportunities and fresh creative angles to the table
  • Stay ahead of what's happening in culture — the memes, the moments, the movements — and know how to turn them into content before they peak
  • Show up on the ground at high-profile UK events, festivals, and live brand activations, capturing authentic moments as they happen
  • Help plan organic social activity around major marketing and product milestones, making sure our channels amplify the bigger brand story
  • Keep the content calendar running smoothly and meet production deadlines without dropping the quality bar
  • Work alongside teams across campaigns, design, PR, localisation, and operations, making sure the content connects to everything happening across the business
  • Explore AI creative tools and help identify where they can genuinely speed up production, trend spotting, and content planning
You'll be great for this role if you
  • Have a portfolio of engaging short-form content for Instagram and/or TikTok that makes you proud
  • Understand what resonates online and how brands can get on board with cultural trends in a way that feels genuine and organic, not forced
  • Are comfortable behind (and maybe even in front of) a camera, and you know your way around a video editing tool like CapCut or Premiere
  • Have a knack for adapting your writing — the caption that works on LinkedIn is never going to work on TikTok, and you already know why
  • Are someone who doesn't wait to be told what to post — you spot an opportunity, you pitch it, and you make it happen
A peek into our selection process
  1. Our team will review your application
  2. If your profile matches our requirements, we'll send you a small business case to complete within 5 days
  3. We'll review your business case and, if it meets the requirements for the role, invite you to an interview with our Global Brand Director
  4. If you're successful in the first interview, you'll move on to a team interview where you will discuss the case
  5. We'll extend an offer to our top candidate

💰 This is a 6-month paid internship with a fixed annual compensation of £30,000 (pro-rated based on duration).
