Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. The Role
Square is looking for a team-oriented Account Executive to join our Inside Sales Team. You will connect with customers to sell the value of Square to their business - quickly establishing trust and building upon your relationships throughout the sales process. You will refine your sales skills, whilst collaborating with your team, cross-functional teams, and hundreds of inspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. You will be a great fit for this role if you've got an enterprising mindset, seek growth and have a natural knack for solving problems and working with others. You will report to the SMB Manager in London.
You Will

  • Oversee the sales cycle from prospecting to close, demonstrating the value of Square to SMB merchants across the UK
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful onboarding for your customers
  • Develop creative pipeline management skills and the necessary sales activities to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach to every conversation and able to uncover customer needs.
  • Collaborate with your team to replicate successes and identify opportunities for improvement that create impact


You Have

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales qualifying or prospecting role, exceeding sales targets
  • An understanding of the importance of value-selling
  • A structured thought process and ability to evaluate sales opportunities and discern prospective buyers
  • The ability to gather support from internal experts and external partners to position Square against our competitors
  • Genuine curiosity about people, business, and can inspire this passion in others
  • Interest in looking for and implementing feedback, and committed to the improvement of your sales craft
  • Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent
